Coffee, vanilla, bourbon, caramel and chocolate in nose. Pours very dark brown with beige head. Taste is sweet with coffee, vanilla, wood, caramel, bourbon and cocoa. Medium bitter finish with very mild alcohol, soft carbonation, full to average body. Overall great stuff, very drinkable considering its high ABV. nimbleprop (9042) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JAN 1, 2018
12oz bottle pours a murky amber with some sticky, off white head. Nose has malt, toast, coffee grounds, light green notes. Flavor has plenty of Folgers coffee, malt, bread, caramel, butterscotch. Finishes a touch sweet. fletchfighters (1623) - AUSTRALIA - DEC 9, 2017
355 ML bottle from Biercab
Dark mahogany color. No head, thin white collar. Sticky AVB legs.
Nose is coffee, lots of coffee, sticky and sweet caramel.
Taste is sweet caramel, lots of roasted coffee, slightly sweet but offset well by the amount of coffee in this. Subtle booze.
without the coffee this might be too sweet, slow sipper but enjoyed it. heman (1312) - Tychy, POLAND - NOV 23, 2017
Barwa brunatna, piana beżowa, skromna.
Aromat średnio intensywny. Na pierwszym planie kawa, ziarnista, lekko kwaśna. Daleko w tle melasa, suszone owoce, owoce kandyzowane. Alkohol wyraźny.
W smaku pełne i słodkie. Kawa schodzi na drugi plan, a słodowość się wybija: melasa, karmel, suszone owoce w cukrze (daktyle, figi, rodzynki). Piwo jest wysoko wysycone, ale oleiste na język. Finisz kawowy, lekko kwaskowaty, z posmakiem whisky. Alkohol wyraźny, silnie rozgrzewający.

So unrepentantly sweet, although the coffee does add a needed bitterness to the brown sugar extravaganza of regular Okie, giving a dark, roasted depth to the original’s cocoa and caramel-tinted booziness. Man, hard to get a grasp on anything but the sweetness in this pint; almost no hops, some oak and vanilla on the back end, and a massive wave of bourbon on the fade. Pours a solid brown with an off-white head and modest lacing. Nose is straight chocolate and whiskey. Alcohol is hidden, but the texture still seems thin. Complex, yeah, but way, way too sweet.

Bardzo mocno kawowo-zbożowe w zapachu. Smak słodszy niż podstawowa wersja, alkohol bardziej grzeje, ale jest przyjemny i dobrze ułożony. czlowiekmotyka (605) - Warsaw, POLAND - NOV 1, 2017
for a American Stron Ale - coffee aroma is exceptional. Really caramelish brew (just like the base version of Okie). Not too strong on barrel notes but classy. Westchesterco (2274) - mclean, Virginia, USA - OCT 15, 2017

From a bottle at the DC RB gathering October 15, 2017. Pours a clear cola with a tan head. Flavors of coffee, cocoa, and oak. Flavors are sweet and smoky. Delicious. pkomar (529) - Poznan, POLAND - OCT 5, 2017
Just when I thought Prairie cant improve regular Okie this one appears. It feels incredible, offers everything a regular Okie provides and also adds a subtle note of coffee which feels complementary rather than overwhelming. This one has even more complex barrel influence with loads of vanilla, wood and tobacco working their magic. Absolutely amazing beer. It might not be as complex as heavy imps from top breweries but in its bracket you cant go much better in my opinion.
