So unrepentantly sweet, although the coffee does add a needed bitterness to the brown sugar extravaganza of regular Okie, giving a dark, roasted depth to the original’s cocoa and caramel-tinted booziness. Man, hard to get a grasp on anything but the sweetness in this pint; almost no hops, some oak and vanilla on the back end, and a massive wave of bourbon on the fade. Pours a solid brown with an off-white head and modest lacing. Nose is straight chocolate and whiskey. Alcohol is hidden, but the texture still seems thin. Complex, yeah, but way, way too sweet.

Bardzo mocno kawowo-zbożowe w zapachu. Smak słodszy niż podstawowa wersja, alkohol bardziej grzeje, ale jest przyjemny i dobrze ułożony.

for a American Stron Ale - coffee aroma is exceptional. Really caramelish brew (just like the base version of Okie). Not too strong on barrel notes but classy.

Just when I thought Prairie cant improve regular Okie this one appears. It feels incredible, offers everything a regular Okie provides and also adds a subtle note of coffee which feels complementary rather than overwhelming. This one has even more complex barrel influence with loads of vanilla, wood and tobacco working their magic. Absolutely amazing beer. It might not be as complex as heavy imps from top breweries but in its bracket you cant go much better in my opinion.

Appearance- coca-cola brown, opaque, a small beige foamy head which quickly disappears. Aroma- caramel, toast, chocolate hints, treacle toffee, milky coffee, nutty malt, pecan, hints of honey, vanilla, bourbon. Taste- sweet malt, honey glaze, pecan pie, glacé cherries, almond, battenburg cake, liqueur coffee, sweet nutty finish. Oily and clingy mouthfeel, boozy notes. Very tasty.

Brown color, small beige head. Aromas of coffee, syrup, alcohol, dried figs, whisky, raisins, toffee and vanilla sugar. Taste of dried fruits, chocolate covered coffee beans, roasted coffee, alcohol, candy sugar and slight cinnamon. Bittersweet finish.

VDuquerroux (1864) - Airvault, Haut-Poitou, FRANCE - JUN 24, 2017
Bottle, 355mL. Home. A dark brown opaque beer with a small beige foamy head ; no retention. Coffee (++), roast, light caramel, light sugar, alcohol. Medium round sweet, warming, light to medium dry bitter. Good body, oily texture, soft (nearly flat) carbonation, roasty warming coffee finish. Overall, delicious :)
