COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Funky Gold Amarillo is the second beer in our dry-hopped sour ale series. We took our sour golden ale, Gold, and gave it a heavy dosing of Amarillo hops. The result is a beer that is a mix of tropical fruit and Prairie funk. Notes of peach, orange, white wine, and citrusy brett can be found in the flavor and aroma.

Zółta, słomkowa, zmętniona barwa. Obfita piana, niestety bardzo szybko opada. W aromacie pierwsze skrzypce gra chmiel Amarillo oczywiście. Wysycenie mimo obfitej piany raczej średnie do wysokiego. Wysoka pijalność i rześkość

Slightly hazy golden with a head that doesn't last. Funky earthy bretty lactic nose with a sour dry hoppy leafy funk. Big bitter grapefruity pithy bretty funk flavor with a leafy citrusy tone and light acidity and strong grapefruity pith. It's a bit funky and sharp and earthy citric.

Draft. An unclear golden beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of funk, brett, hops, and malt. The flavor is acidic with notes of brettanomyces, citrus fruits, malt, and hops, leading to a tart finish.

Spannendes Ding!

Golden, slightly hazy coloured body with a nice, four centimetre tall dense off-white head. Aroma of super soured grapes, yeast, brett, apples, grain and a bit of light earth with some bright hops and tropical fruit on the finish - very soured aroma though - nice! Light to Medium-bodied; Strong sour flavour of grapes, lemons and a bit of herbs with a nice smooth hop flavour along with some maltiness and quite a bit of wild funk throughout. Aftertaste is rich and robust with a very nice herbal and dry hoppy flavour along with some sweetness from the fruits and a bunch of wild yeast flavours that dominate, most of them being sour bretty flavours, but they are all good and lead to a ton of complexity on the finish. Overall, a rich and very interesting beer with a lot of sourness, a smooth complexity and a nice flavour that makes the mouth water, but quenches it at the same time! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from Lueken’s Liquor in Dunedin, Florida on 03-October-2015 for US$9,99 sampled at home in Washington on 19-November-2016.

Pale golden, hazy, big frothy white head. Smell of funk, citrus, spices, herbs, stable, citrus - very complex. Light sweet, quite dry, alot of funky flavors, some tart fruits, citrus, spices, light acids, brett and barnyard. Super complex, highly drinkable. Moderate bitter. Superb!

Bottle at the Aaahhh...Øl!!! Julebord 2015. Hazy dark yellow body with a big lively white head. Aroma is tropical and funky, tart, appealing. Taste is sour with tropical fruits, mild bitterness, pepper and yeast spicy. Dry refreshing peach and apricot finish with a lasting tartness. Excellent.

500 ml bottle purchased 16 months ago at Holiday Wine Cellar ($13.99). POURS...a gusher...after settling down, it pours a very hazy peach / yellow hue with two fingers of fizzy white foam that soon recedes almost entirely. AROMA of a spritzy white wine, mild earthy brett funk, tart lemon, some fragrant flowers (kind of like citrus blossoms), and some vaguely over ripe tropical fruit. FLAVOR of various tart underripe fruits (green grape, nectarine, pink grapefruit), a sour-ish sauvignon blanc, some Amarillo-inspired tropical fruit notes, and a nice touch of funky brett. Certainly tart, but not puckeringly so...allows the (now mellowed) Amarillo to show through in a nice way. I think the spritzy carbonation actually enhances the flavor here. Actually quite refreshing on the first really hot day of the year here in San Diego. (294, 1027)
