Bottle. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty chocolate and toasted coconut vanilla aroma. Roasted malty chocolate vanilla and coconut flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate vanilla and coconut finish. Schwarzbart (348) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 16, 2018
Pours a finger high, brownish tan, creamy head. Thick looking and black as used motor oil with lots of frothy lace patterns. Sweet smells of chocolate cake and faint coconut. Tastes of rich dark chocolate, light coconut, light vanilla, dark chocolate cake, plenty of sweetness and light alcohol barrel notes. Thick with a heavy, creamy mouthfeel. A little punch from the alcohol and sweetness. It’s reminds me of eating my gramma’s coconut cake when I was 5 and I would actually scrape all the coconut icing off the cake.

Aroma is coconut, vanilla, honey, toffee, dark roast coffee, slight nuttiness and some barrel notes.
Taste is lots of toasted coconut, lots of vanilla, melted toffee, charred wood, some coffee, dried dates, hint of soaked raisins and bourbon.
Mouthfeel is semi-thick and oily with a slight stickiness. Medium-low bitterness. High sweetness. Very slight alcohol burn at the back but a bourbon flavoured one. Medium-low carbonation.
Overall: I heard Prairie possessed a mastery in making Impys, so I had to try for myself. As far as coconut in Impys go, this is pretty much borderline balanced before it gets too artificial and sweet. I love coconut but it should remain subtle in my Imps. Still, a great beer that nails most things. Not even barrel aged but has a pretty big barrel note, that's impressive. Not a big alcohol note at 13% ABV, well done. Some more stouts by Prairie coming up and they had a good start!
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2018 Opaque black with a medium tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Roasted malts, chocolate, vanilla beans, lighter coconut, sweeter finish. davidezdonz (668) - Hong Kong, HONG KONG - FEB 26, 2018
A 12 fl. oz. bottle with a Julian botted on date of (not clear, but I believe) 22917, meaning it was bottled on 17th August 2017. Poured into a snifter glass. It was black in colour with about half a finger brown head that dissipates quickly and left only sparse spotty lacing. Aromas of chocolate, toasted coconut, vanilla with a touch of molasses and light roasted malts. Tastes of chocolate and roasted malts followed by a boozy sweet bourbon kick before calming down with vanilla, coconut and licorice. Creamy, medium to full bodied with low carbonation and some boozy kick. Overall, I had a bottle a few weeks ago that was aged about a year that seemed to have much more coconut than I’m getting in this bottle, that has been bottled for about 6 months. This was not a bad bottle by any means, but for some reason, there is just less coconut than I remember, and that was something that I liked about it before. Sort med brunt skum.
Sød aroma af malt, kaffe og kokus.
Blød i munden og med fuld krop. Smooth og hverken særlig sød eller bitter.

Near black pour with reddish brown tint. Way sweeter than what I usually like, bit damn this works. Aroma is vanilla, raisin, plumb and alcohol. Taste is raisin and coconut. Niceven alcohol warmth. Sticky sweet. Love this stuff.
