A black beer, a head is small and light brown. Aroma has richness of malts and sweetness, liquorice, some vanilla and strenght of alcohol, maybe hint of hazelnut. Black clor with a light tan head, short retention. Aroma has notes of roasted notes, light sweetness, black ripe fruit. Flavor is slightly sweet, roasty, light coffee notes, slightly sweetness with notes of prunes. Dense and creamy on palate, light vanilla, slghtly sweet, alcohol hidden by roasted notes.
12 oz. bottle from The Party Source. Pours a deep, dark, not quite opaque coffee brown with a small beige head that settles into a ring. Notes of vanilla, molasses, caramel, candied pecans, dark fruits (raisins, dates, figs), cocoa, cola, and mild roasted malts. Light-medium bodied, with low to moderate carbonation and a sweet, smooth, kinda thin and barely boozy mouthfeel. Almost seems a bit old, although it's under a year. UPDATED: DEC 31, 2017 Pours a headless, rich black. Aroma is pecan, chocolate and coffee. Taste is sweet chocolate with a hint of pecan, moving to coffee. Finish is smooth. A really good imperial stout.
