kind of a strong, malty aroma, sweet, oaky, much too complex for me to pick out everything. pours black, with tan, slight head. strong, medicinal taste from the barrel. Also, complex woody, leathery things going on that i either couldn’t identify, or didn’t want to work hard enough to identify. the finish is too sweet for my taste. a complex brew that probably needs another sampling at a time when i am not drunk. FoBAB 2005: Oily opaque appearance with some clinging tears. The aroma is fruity and oaky, phenolic and seems to have some brett like twang character on the nose. The taste starts oaky and tannic with a vanilla and mocha background. Grassy hops and a lactic twang gets you midway. Finished with soem mild hop and coffee bitterness. The beer is medium-bodeid and oily, sligtly warming. An okay offering but needs more depth of palate.
