[9188-20170515] 330mL bottle. Sweet summery grains and floral caramel malt aroma. Slightly hazy, dark brown amber body with a medium-lasting foamy tan head. Sweet caramel toasted bread crusts flavour has a boozy sweet finish. Full body. Good, could be a little reckless. (7/4/8/4/15) 3.8

Brown, not entirely see through. Aroma is espresso coffee, nice. Taste is cooked coffee grounds. A bit of a let down. Like a dubbel with coffee grounds in it. Drinkable but nothing special.

2017-05-15. Dark brown body, moderate foamy tan head and lace. 3++ Aroma has sweet dark fruit notes, moderate sugars and alcohol, nutty accents, touches of coffee. 7++ Flavour has similar sweet dark fruit base, notes of candi sugar and brown sugar, muted coffee undertones maybe, if you look for it, particularly in the aftertaste. Smooth medium to full bodied palate, softly effervescent. Significantly better than I expected from the description to be honest! 8/4/7/3/15-16 Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto.

Bottle from LCBO. Strong aroma of coffee, dark chocolate roastiness, hint of sweetness. Very deep reddish brown with big tan head. Very smooth slick mouthtfeel. Sweet toffee and caramel, coffee and dark chocolate, some hints of spiciness.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of caramelized malt with light coffee notes is pleasant. Taste is a mix of caramelized malt with some residual candi sugar notes with some light floral coffee notes. Body is a bit light for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Interesting mix with more drinkability then I was expecting.

Sample at Zythos 17. Pours clear dark brown wit a off-white head. Aroma is coffee (espresso), some brown sugar, hints of nuts. Good. Flavor is mildly sweet and roasty. Definitely coffee and a welcome vanilla kick. Ending is a bittersweet and a bit sugary. Definitely a good brew. Full bodied, sticky and oily texture. Well balanced brew, not that complex and groundbreaking, yet the vanilla touch is a small plus nonetheless.

Best before date on back label is 18/11/18. Pours a dark brown colour with a hazy amber highlights. The big head is frothy, fluffy, light mocha-coloured with long retention and thick patchy lacing. Lots of nutty notes in the aromas with dark fruits from the malts. Prune, plums and mild alcohol. The mouthfeel is slightly creamy, kind of refreshing for a Quad and the alcohol is a little more felt, but nice for a winter warming effect. More nuts in the start going through better blended dark fruits and even, maple syrup, toffee. The coffee is only felt in the finish. Very light with hints of chocolate lingers. Quite a nice one.

Merci à Marc pour l’échange, on dirait presque une version légère de la pêché mortel, on ne sent pas du tout le 9.5 % d’alcool , il me semble que le goût du malt est un peu plus présent que le café. Une petite mousse persistante , très bon .
