3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours with a dark brown body with red tinting topped by a thin to medium thick head with some lacing. It’s slightly sweet and malty with a slight roasted coffee note and a nice coffeeeish finish. Both the flavor and aroma seem a little weak. Medium bodied and smooth.
On tap at Prescott, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out light roast and dry cocoa powder. Flavour brings out chocolate upfront, followed by medium roast and a little coffee. A little jagged and messy, but works okay. smith4498 (3647) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - JUN 29, 2016

On tap at the brewery. Pours a very dark brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is roast and chocolate. Medium mouth, rich malt, roast, chocolate, light dry finish, very good. arminjewell (9676) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - MAR 30, 2015
Pour on tap at the brewery, brownish black pour with off white head, aroma brought notes of dark chocolate, roast, hints of earth into a bit of yeast, touch of coffee with a slight dark fruit note. Taste was a mix of cocoa, roast, coffee into some caramel, touch of earthy tones in a slight dark fruit, finishing sweet, slightly roasted.

Bottle @ home, thanks Pim & Amy! Aroma is roast, liquorice, lactose, kastanje, spices, caramel and more. Flavour is roasty caramel, nutty, chocolate, fruity notes and more. Nice. Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - OCT 22, 2014
Bottle. Clear reddish dark brown pour, thin off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, chocolate, roasted and some coffee. Flavor is quite sweet, roasty malts and quite smooth. A bit thin and a bit too sweet. Ibrew2or3 (8614) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - JUL 2, 2014
On tap at the brewpub in Prescott where it pours with a nice mahogany looking body that has deep red edges and supports a tan head of foam. The aroma offers up sweetness mixed with chocolate and caramel malts as well as a thin ribbon of dark roasted maltiness. The taste delivers malts and a slight molasses sweetened dark roasted maltiness as well as a pleasing layer of chocolate. It then picks up sweetened coffee and a dash of brownie laced with a wafer thin layer of black licorice. This is a nice robust porter where the above average sweetness is balanced nicely by the roasty malt bill. kcorum10 (347) - Idaho, USA - APR 11, 2014
Aroma of sweet buttery goodness with some roast. This isn’t a good beer, it is prevalent with a buttery profile. The roast masks it slightly, but it worsens as it warms up. This wasn’t a good one. OKplus (787) - Oklahoma, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Review from notes: 12oz on top in a pint glass
A - Dark brown color, small fleeting head that sinks quickly and has little to no lacing.
S - Dark coffee, roasted malts, sweet, almost smokey, hints of sweet vanilla.
T - Decadent roasted malts, sweet coffee, firm bitterness from leafy green hops, vanilla, burnt raisins, thin molasses, residual brown sugars, finish is long and bitter with dark chocolate popping out once warm.
M - Silky and thin but good, creamy but light, low carbonation, bitter finish.
Good stuff here. One of the best beers from this brewery. This would go good with fish and chips as well as a desert beer. Good hop bitterness with a sweet roast to balance it out.
