UPDATED: JUN 9, 2007 Actually, a bit better than I expected. From the bottle (come on, it is a pale lager). I’m having it pretty cold. Flavors are mostly sour with a bit of bitterness: canned corn, with a hint of sucking on quarters taste. I had two worse green bottle beers from Europe in the last 24 hours. Wow...drink fast, those corn and quarters flavors get worse with temperatures coldbrewky (1730) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - DEC 26, 2006
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2006 I’m sure this brew tastes better if you are in the DR on the beach in Puerto Plata or walking in Santo Domingo. At my lattitude, this stuff is a last chance thirst quencher. PilsnerPeter (3046) - Flushing, New York, USA - DEC 16, 2006
UPDATED: JUL 23, 2013 When you get this stuff fresh in Dominican Republic on tap, it’s not a horrible Pale Lager. Fresh aroma of pale malts and doughy white bread notes, Silky light body. Light flavor with a soft white bread pale malt note and it remains fairly dry. Soft grassy hops on the back, Definitely drinkable when fresh, especially when it doesn’t have the skunky aspect of light damaged bottle versions. dcattorney (18) - USA - DEC 13, 2006
A very skippable beer, but one of very few options in the Dominican Republic.
I agree that the Presidente in the D.R. tastes better than the imported version in the US. It is stronger as well.
This is a light lager with a weak bitter taste and often comes out of the bottle somewhat flat. OK as a mild beer to accompany food. Blackbarrel (116) - new york, New York, USA - NOV 30, 2006
This is the default beer of washington Heights. When cold enough, its crisp and refreshing...flavors are faint, but balanced and its not especially unpleasant.

I hate this beer with a passion. I drank this on my honeymoon in the Domincan Repubic. I stayed in a huge resort and walked 10 minutes from one end to the other to get a Bud Light (it was only available at one of the 5 bars) while the Presidente was available IN MY ROOM FOR FREE! YUCK! Worst score I have given! henryalvz (32) - Tampa, Florida, USA - NOV 25, 2006
An OK pale Pilsner, light yellow with foamy white head. Very lightly malted with sweet initial flavor ending with light bitterness. On sale $ 9.99 a twelve. Tmoney99 (14632) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - NOV 24, 2006
Bottle from Sarasota, FL. Poured clear amber color with an average frothy white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate grassy aroma. Medium body. Medium bitter flavor with a light bitter finish of moderate duration. Drinkable beer. beerlady (556) - lucerne, SWITZERLAND - OCT 16, 2006
middle yellow golden color
head is dissapearing extremely fast( or even not excisting)
smells sweetish, a bit malty,a bit lemonade-like, corny,some hops
tasts malty,corny,sourish-sweetish, some citrus
aftertaste malty-sweetish, canned maize,(did someone take the juice in such a sweetcorn- can and brew with it,or what’), but something very hidden, a bit saffron-like too
the present aromes and tasts could be more strong, and it could have some more different ones

(Bottle) I guess it takes cleaning up one’s cellar as I found this beer Argo gave me 18 months ago. Pours a thin, white creamy head with a straw coloured body. Nose of canned corn and soap. The flavour is mildly vegetable with a corn malt base though it is still somewhat crisp and carbonated. Below average.
