Pours pitch black, topped with medium beige head, decent retention. Nice fruity hoppy nose with black currant in charge, just a hint of chocolate notes. Nice bitterness with just a touch of fruitiness, gentle roastiness in the finish and aftertaste. Medium light body. Easily drinkable. Nice one. HKdIPA (878) - HONG KONG - JUN 2, 2017
Bottle from S’s UK trip at home in HK. Opaque dark dark brown pour with puffy light tan head. Aroma is musty dark IPA - spicy booze, roasted coffee, some floral hops. Taste is similar - solid roasted coffee bitterness with some sort of dank hops underneath but a bit muddied with a slightly chalky palate. Not bad but wouldn’t get again. Bottle from Bethnal Green, London. Drank w Matt at home the night before his 33rd birthday! Pours a dark black-brown with a fizzy beige head. Smells of dark rye bread, lemony bready sourness, moderately herbal/lightly grassy bitterness, some dusty chalkiness and light coffee. Taste is roast dark malt, moderate chalky mineral bitterness, a little bit soapy. Body is surprisingly tart, light burnt acidity, moderate herbal bitterness. Not bad, dark malt is nice and complex (chalky, coffee, slightly burnt), more tart than expected - could use more bitterness and darkness to balance it. anfractuosity (494) - - MAY 12, 2017

Bottle from crafty bottle, Lincoln. Pretty much black colour with a tan head. Aroma burnt toffee, and charcoal. Taste a bit burnt bitter. The body is all a bit coarse. LazyPyro (1938) - Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAR 24, 2017
330ml bottle. Jet black colour with a large tan head, great lacing and retention. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruit, hops, pine, spice. Taste is malty, dark fruit, rye, citrus, pine, chocolate. Well balanced, medium body, very smooth mouthfeel, average carbonation, dry finish. Very good. JorgeLee (2313) - Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 21, 2017
Bottle, Oddbins West Hampstead. Deep brown hint ruddy white foam. Sometimes black IPAs are a bit weird but this one’s good with the sweeter spiciness of rye providing a nice bridge between the darker malts and a piney grapefruit hop. Pretty tasty. Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl.
Appearance - dark brown to black with a lovely fluffy off white head.
Nose - pine, resin, earthy.
Taste - tonnes of creamy chocolate, light lime and plant stalks. Dry resin finish.
Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - smelt like an ipa and drank like a stout. Would like them both at the same time. Decent though. allanmb (276) - Tyne & Wear, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2017
Pours black with aggressive beige head. Aromas of grassy hops balanced with a touch of roast malty chocolate and coffee tones. Medium carbonation and mouth feel. Taste is immediately pine hops which fade quickly to give a nice black ipa finish, slightly chocolate and a touch of roast malt and then the rye kicks in. Finish is dry and fairly high bitterness with a lingering gentle pepperiness.
