Dark burgundy tinged brown with rich bourbon biscuit aroma with some vinous port notes and tart elderberry. Lacing of dark head, tingle of carbonation. Full bodied, dry and earthy, burnt toast, a sweet lactose middle section then tanins kick in. Finishes pretty dry with a bit of plum jam and plenty of burnt toast.

Pours pitch black color with a medium sized beige head. Aroma is quite roasty and malty, some chocolaty notes and coffee also. Flavor of cocoa powder, some roasted malts, mild vanilla and faint fruity notes. Soft carbonation, somewhat thin body, chocolaty creamy palate with a subtle bitter finish.
Bottle @ Dean’s Birthday tasting, courtesy of jmgreenuk. Pours a pitch black colored beer with a small, beige head on top. Aroma of toffee, coffee and caramel. Flavor is quite sweet, like a coffee with milk and sugar. I’m not sure if it’s my imagination, but I’ve noticed some tea influences in here. Long sweet finish. Quite good porter!
