Beersiveknown (5284) - NORTHERN IRELAND - MAY 15, 2016
bottle at home from ales by mail
deep dark ruby brown, beige lacing. A whiff of smokiness on the aroma. Rather astringent and tannic - oversparging of the dark malts? The wheat is way down in the mix unfortunately making it seem more dunkel than dunkelweisse, rather disappointing given the calibre of some of the other beers from this brewer.

gunnar (9098) - Sandnes, NORWAY - APR 16, 2016
Bottle from Ales By Mail. Pours almost clear dark amber/ruby with a big foamy off-white head. Aroma of musty malts, weak herbal hops. Taste is moderate sweet, harsh and musty malts, high carbonated, bad finish.

rlgk (18850) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - MAR 5, 2016
Bottle from Bottle Dog, London. Cloudy brown beer with a rich beige head. Strange fruity vinous aroma, perfume, grass, hay, herbal notes. Harsh gun powder flavor, hay, floral, citrus, some caramel. Odd beer.

IngetSlick (107) - - MAR 5, 2016
Bottled thx rlgk. Brown muddy body. White bubbly head. Smells of nuts, dried fruits, yeast. Tastes beef jerky, salt, citrus. Sour and salt, bitter aftertaste.

Dazz3 (1798) - Hallsberg, SWEDEN - MAR 5, 2016
Bottled. Pours cloudy golden with a huge white head. Smells stale boiled vegetables. Tastes smoked meat, boiled vegetables with a similar finish.

nofearhatmatt (48) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 6, 2015
Excellent beer, went very well with sausage and peppers. A nice malty character, like a sweet bread. Would probably go even better with a sandwich (on rye).

The_Osprey (8010) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 30, 2015
330ml bottle at Wholefoods, BB Aug 2015, 5%. Very dark brown, sparkling, big foamy off-white head, lacing doesnn’t stick. Aroma is vegetable, especially cabbage, smoke, yeasty. Body is medium to light, spritzy carbonation, foamy. Taste is light with smoked ham, earth, metallics, toffee sweetness, dry finish with a light bitterness. Overall impression is a bit off. It’s OK. Body and aroma let it down.

wheresthepath (2335) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - MAR 7, 2015
Bottle from St Albans Beer Shop’s stall at St Albans Farmer’s Market. Dark brown with a rapidly vanishing beige head. Far, far too fizzy. Fortunately the flavours make up for it- smoky gammon up front and then sweet banana and light chocolate. Possibly a little too sweet by the end- I’d have liked a bit more meatiness. And the annoying fizz is still there too. Overall though it’s an interesting and pleasant beer.

Stuu666 (13435) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - MAR 2, 2015
Bottle at Craig’s. Pours deep brown, nose is light smoke, banana, spices, taste is similar, sweet malt.

teorn88 (7682) - Rimini, ITALY - NOV 4, 2014
Backlog rating. Bottle from Sourced Market, London. It pours a hazy amber color with a medium white head. Aroma is yeasty with spices and banana notes, surrounded by campfire and ashes. Taste is medium sweet upfront with yeast and banana, then more spices, wood smoke and ashes to give the beer a drier bitter finish. Medium body with lively carbonation. Good.
