Working through my long delayed EBF/ NotB backlog... I had to try this out of pure absurdity. yep, i fell victim to this brilliant gimmick that was served through a breast pump- I kid you not!
It poured a cloudy light purple/ brown... yum, right?!
smell was sweet and faintly fruity... actually not to bad.
Taste, however, was metallic, thin and overall blah.
Still glad I tried it to say i did! HonusWagner (2250) - Florida, USA - MAR 31, 2011
Belgian candy sugar, a bit oaky, some dark fruits. Not really all that memorable as Quads or NotB beers go. I liked the Hoppy White Rabbits a bit more. deyholla (12588) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAR 20, 2011
Sampled from the barrel at NotB. Poured a hazy light wooden brown with a tan head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a note of musty wood that was joined by sweet grains, candied sugar and a hint of dark fruit/floral notes. Flavor had a relatively strong dark fruit note with the same musty wood note and backing sweet grains/candied sugar. j12601 (13298) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - MAR 17, 2011
Pouring at the Night of the Barrels at EBF. Pours a hazed brown with a thin white head. Sweet candy, wood, vanilla, and chocolate on the nose. Fuzzy phenolic yeast notes, toasty and warm. A touch thin and boozy. Toasty, wood, long tannins on the finish.
