3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 2.8%. Mild bready aroma. Cloudy brown colour. Good stable light brown colour. Good bready flavour, malty rye bread. Of course rather thin mouthfeel. Good distinct bitterness, clean and a little rough. Late horse blanket note, perhaps a little earth, but not moldy. A really good beer for its ABV. The mouthfeel could have been better, but that is the way is must go at 2.8%.
Bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a cloudy orange with medium off white head. The aroma is roast and grass. Medium mouth with bready malt, fruit, and nuts, decent. javiercrasher (639) - Granada, SPAIN - JAN 2, 2015
Bottle thanks to pepsi! Pours crystal clear burnt orange - odd color for a mild. Small beige head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is hay, caramel, grass, nutty. Flavor is light plus sweet, caramel, grass, light bitter, nutty. Medium body, somewhat acidic. Pretty complex for 2.6%! alexsdad06 (10778) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - NOV 21, 2014
22 oz bottle from the Party Source. Pours a clear brown color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have mild earthy hops, toasted bread, a mild nutty character, caramel, light bitterness, it is definitely mild, I would pass on this if offered. 0.65l bottle from Bierkoning. It’s quite on the cloudy side this with its dark wood amber color and medium sized bubbly and fading off-white head. The nose has a nice gentle fruitiness. I get a little malty sweetness, kinda wort-ish and there are traces of chocolate and bitter un-roasted coffee beans. Some cocoa and nuts as well. Or is it perhaps yeast? In a strange way the aroma is not that bad, and I’m daring to say that I actually kinda like it. As expected not much resistance in the taste, but it definitely has some flavor this puppy. The dark chocolate paper sticks it head out, I get some more of that sweet wort found in the aroma. It has a light, but definitely not thin but light mouthfeel and the carbonation is just below average and near prickling. It’s really mild, sessional and quite tasty. Could drink lots of this in one setting. It reminds me much of Kinns Manna. Ends with a little bit of bitter coffee and cocoa powder. Totally completely different from it’s elder brothers, and really interesting. 04.10.2013 BeerandBlues2 (13806) - Escondido, California, USA - MAY 12, 2014
Bottle at home. Pours clear brown with a medium, frothy and rocky off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is toast and nutty malt, dates and leaves with light earthy hops. Flavor is sweet malt dominant, medium hops, light bitterness, dark fruits and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Beese (3209) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2014
Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a clear copper, with a dense off-white head. Malty aroma, with mineral and straw notes. Bitter grain flavours, some grass and brown sugar. Quite a light, crisp mouth feel. Finish was caramel, burnt sugar and straw. Quite interesting; fairly full flavoured, considering its strength. matty (446) - Pennsylvania, USA - APR 11, 2014
22 oz. bottle. Had this one sitting in my basement for about a year and a half. Pours a clear dark gold/copper with a touch of redness. Off-white head that quickly settles to a film. Carbonation keeps rising but not too much - just in the center of the glass. Aroma is sweet and bready, much like a mild English ale. Medium bodied, getting some slight toasted flavors, caramel, toffee and malt. Finish is slightly bitter on the sides, sweet in the middle and some toasted flavors after the swallow. Very interesting, great story to go with it. Glad I had it. Thanks to Sam for the bottle. Travlr (26065) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - NOV 5, 2013
Bottle. Clear deep amber brown color, thin off white head. Aroma of toffee, light molasses, caramel. Taste is moderately sweet toffee with a toasted edge. Decent stuff for such a low abv beer. Interesting to taste a bit of history, and more recent (and realistic) than things like re-created Egyptian brews.
