Bottle at the Shenandoah Throwdown. Pours a mostly clear brownish orange with a medium sized white head. Caramel and a light hop presence, very subtle and refined. Sweet caramel and plums, soft fruit. The alcohol is mostly hidden on here, though it does peek through a couple of times. Sweet lightly bitter finish. Imperial mild? Not sure about that, but whatever it was, sure was tasty. yobdoog (1888) - Kingston, New York, USA - JUL 9, 2010
This really was quite enjoyable. Nice color with a small head. Aroma is sweet, some caramel, some raisins, fruit and a bit of hops but not really bitter. Has a flavor reminiscent of a barleywine, light fruit, plums and raisins with a touch of molasses and yeast with a hint of spice and hops. Really well balanced. Can’t tell exactly what style it is but it seemed like a great effort from Pretty Things. Maybe Mild was the start and they amped up the malt base. 22 oz bottle. Lightly fogged orange brown with a creamy head. Nose is orange juice concentrate, pineapple and toffee; really sweet. Sticky, full bodied with enough of a tang to keep the palate lively. Taste is nectarine, peach, strawberry and watermelon; an explosion of fruitiness. Dry finish with grapefruit and gin. Drinks like a West Coast barleywine. decaturstevo (6341) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - SEP 26, 2011
Orange pour with white head and lace. Aroma of sour malt and perfumy hops. Sweet honey and caramel malt and a very light bitter. Full slick bodied with nice carbonation. SuIIy (1983) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - APR 10, 2010
22oz bottle. Pours a copperish color with a frothy off white head. Nose is sweet, with caramel, some peanuts, a light alcohol note and some light spicy hop notes. Head recedes leaving light lacing, a firm ring and a light film. Palate is sticky, biting, a clean bitterness in the finish. Flavor is mostly hop notes with a spicy, resiny flavor to it and some light nutty hints and some sugary caramel notes.

22oz. Bottle: Aroma of malt, light banana, slight bubblegum, and a hint of caramel. Poured copper/amber in color with a medium to large-sized, creamy, dense, off-white head that diminished but lasted throughout. Cloudy. Very sparkling. Full of tiny particles throughout. Excellent lacing. Flavor is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of malt, banana, slight alcohol, smoke, bamburg wood, hops, and some caramel. Medium body. Smooth, slick, overly-drinkable texture. Soft to average carbonation. Malt, slight caramel, hops, and bamburg wood finish is a tiny bit dry. 10.5%ABV is very well hidden throughout, and barely noticeable. r464 (2362) - Earth, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 26, 2010
Deep amber color with no head at all. Faint aroma is floral. Very light and crisp with a slow, fading aftertaste that hints at the alcohol, though it is hidden. Very unique. boFNjackson (4201) - Portland, Oregon, USA - MAY 31, 2010
Bottle shared at a recent BA/RB tasting... Poured rusty/amber with a white head. Oaky, vanilla flavors created a very smooth beer. Sweet malts, caramel, and a decent hops character. popery (2170) - San Francisco, California, USA - JUN 4, 2010
Thanks to radfad2000. I was half-expecting this one to disappoint, but that was definitely not the case. Lots of caramel, bubblegum and hops. Sort of a light, butterscotch-y barleywine. Hops come through as pine resin, mostly. Good complexity to the malt. Perhaps a bit sticky but quite drinkable for a sweet 10+% abv beer. Rosebud butternuts (2396) - Denton, Texas, USA - JAN 8, 2011
