November 2015 bomber shared by AdamC on 7/29/17. Also on tap pretty much permanently at Deep Ellum over the years.AirForceHops (8034) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 29, 2017
Clear, chestnut-ruby body with a dark beige head atop showing good retention for its age.
Warm malt and soft red fruit tones mix together showing cherry, plum strawberry and light caramel-toffee. Low on any annoying breadiness, excess of alcohol or oxidation (just a minor touch of that). Light peppery phenols is all you get as far as the alcohol here and it never comes off syrupy as far as the malt goes. Very English and quite well-done if you like those types of barleywines (I do, in as much as I like barleywines - which is not at all anymore, really).
Candied orange, plum, strawberry and bright cherry interlaced with dry toffee, raisin and caramel with biscuit, vanilla and pepper on the finish. Definitely some warmth and alcohol but it only serves to balance the malt, which is already nicely attenuated. Low but ample carbonation and a soft, malty texture that belies the specialty malt here. Very nice and has aged gracefully.
22 oz bottle in a trade with ClarkVV awhile ago. This is dated Nov 2015. Deep mahogany brown with a good amount of carbonation left. Aroma is figs, mild caramel malt, dark fruit and a English ale yeast.AdamChandler (5206) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 29, 2017
Flavor has bready malt, dark fruits, maybe mild Apple. Medium bodied with the booze almost hidden. No alcohol note or sugar. This aged pretty nice and enjoyable. Rest in Peace Pretty Things.
Bomber from AFH. 11/2015 Bottle date. looks like caramel syrup. very filtered. no sediment. smells like caramel, chocolate and candy bar. This tastes great. caramel, creamy with butterscotch, old apple, sweet middle, dry oily finish. tasty. Lele (562) - Padova, ITALY - MAY 12, 2017

Deep dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, fast-dying tan head and a touch of a muddied brown glow. Aroma toasted malt, alcohol, pit fruits, raisins, earth and a bit of caramel. Medium to Full-bodied; Strong rich malty flavour at first with alcohol, toffee, earth, grain and an oaky and cedar flavour up front that fades to a smooth caramel sweetness that finishes with some alcohol and bitterness from hops and unfinished sugars from caramel and fruits. Aftertaste is smooth-ish with some caramel strength and a dose of hops and bitterness coupled with oaky and dry flavours and finishing with a ton of alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice barley wine with good flavours and a rich finish showing some nutty and earthy finishes that shows some alcohol, but relatively smooth for the style. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 05-December-2016 for US$9,99 sampled at home in Washington on Christmas Day, 25-December-2016.

Appearance: clear brown with amber-brown highlights, one finger of creamy light tan head that retains well, light lacing. (4/5) Aroma: molasses, chocolate syrup, caramel, dark boozy fruit, light coffee. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Medium-full slightly slick body, moderate carbonation, lingering sweetish and warming finish. (4/5)
Nice. Opens up nicely as it warms, developing rich and complex flavours on a medium-full body, with a pronounced but not harsh alcohol warming. The sweetness is high but not cloying, and smoothly transitions into pleasant coffee-like tones, but remains a bit sticky on the finish. 650ml bottle pours a deep amber color with a vigorously poured finger and a half of light beige head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is big caramel with some raisins and a bit of alcohol. Taste is a raisiny and caramel malty sweetness with a herbal bitterness with some alcohol in the finish. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, quite sweet for the style, but still an enjoyable brew.
