Batch 4 - bottled December 09. Sweet caramel and light roast aroma, slight butterscotch, emit from the impressively frothy head. Deep ruby when held up to the light, otherwise nicely brown. Impressive array of flavors - some cherry-like tang, light roast, deep caramel and a fruity/citric hop tinge. Very crisp and easily quaffed with a tart quality from the yeast. Calling this a brown ale does not do this justice - it has little in the way of chocolate malts and is damn impressive.
Raisin, grape, anise, cinnamon, mace, mr and dried fruit aroma. Taste is toated malt, dark fruit, molasses, and cloves. lello4ever (1168) - ITALY - MAY 9, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 9, 2017 Invecchiatura di 18 mesi. Carbonazione media. Ottima Brown. martin00sr (4395) - Haderslev, DENMARK - MAY 2, 2017
Clear dark brown, nearly black, small lacing offwhite head. Caramely, nutty aroma. Malty, caramely flavour with some dried fruit and light alc warmth. Finishes a little thin, otherwise quite nice. A few years past BBD hasn’t hurt this one. ciocanelu (2853) - Timisoara, ROMANIA - JAN 31, 2017
Clear dark brown color with creamy tan head. Aroma has caramelised dark fruits, brown sugar and sweet, dark malts. Taste starts sweet and sugary but not cloying. It balances out towards the finish with some roasted malt notes. Light to medium bodied with medium to low carbonation. Overall it’s a really tasty, well balanced brown ale. haukur (1991) - Kópavogur, ICELAND - OCT 18, 2016
backlog. Brown with a firm head. Slight roast in the aroma, some hints of maple. Roasty, slightly sweet. Nice for the style

Rich chocolat in the aroma, following into the flavor with malty sweetness. Balanced and complex and inviting. Skinnyviking (9670) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 9, 2016

On the patio with Z, pours a medium brown color with a small head . Nose is very sweet malt laced with caramel . Taste is sweet malt and caramel typical of a brown ale....without any real distinction. Finishes in the same tasting notes with a sweet malty finish . Average at best ! Quaff Score 6 / 10 ByTheirLimpin (321) - New York, USA - MAR 16, 2016
Oh wow. Split bomber with the Coldbrewky. Dark in the glass, creamy coffee head. Fine fizzed. Coffee, toffee but not syrupy and thick. Great roasted malts without going overboard. Sad to see them go. Very well done.
