Arve_Christian (5218) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 1, 2016

õrgu. Pours dark brown/black with small beige head that lasts forever. Aroma is fruity, some raisin, burnt black bread, caramel, vanilla cream. Taste is burnt, sweet, creamy, some oil. Not very hard body, medium to drink, some sourness, little bit watery. Easy going dark beer.

Pörgu. Deep brown, thick creamy off white head. Bready, earthy, malty aroma. Flavor has caramel, bread, hops, grapes. Bitter finish. Good.
Brown beer, medium tan head. Nose is roasty, caramelly, some hops. Flavor is dry and toasty, malts, caramel, hops in the finish, some dry notes. Drinkable. Creamy mouthfeel. Not bad.

Tap at Põrgu in Tallinn (ca 30 cl is € 2,80), Sept 2014. Appears black in the glass - but is actually brown - with a very nice thick creamy head that retains and laces beautifully. Nose strikes me at first with some sweet ripe red fruits or berries, I get some lychee or pomegrenate, and molasses / burnt sugar / caramel, but also some grassy, earthy and bitter hoppiness. Taste on the other hand is surprisingly bitter, a bit caramelly, and is joined by a roasty sensation in the finish. Light to medium body with very soft carbonation, palate is a tad too watery, finish dry, somewhat robustly roasty and pleasantly bitter. Overall a bit rought around the edges but still a very good easy-drinker - I really like it. (Had it for the first time so I can’t compare to earlier batches.) Tap. Thick, malty and saturated drink. Drinkable when warm. I would prefer it to be 7-8%ABV. Roasted, somewhat sweet, with pleasant, smooth finish. Remembering it makes me want another one. jookos (7041) - FINLAND - JUL 12, 2014
@pörgu. Dark brown. Dark brad malty, llts of yeast, some hoppy greenery. Med light bodied, dry. Pretty nice brown maltyness, sort of bready though. Has a homebrewy feel to it. Not bad, but seems messy.martjoobolut (5121) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 24, 2014
Tap @ Põrgu. Pours red copper with nice white head. The head stays, nice lacing. Aroma is rather weak caramel, herbal, berries, citrus. Taste is caramel, herbal, berries, grapefruit bitterness. Finish is decent grapefruit bitter. Overall: from the other comments it seems that every batch is very different; this one was drinkable, but not exciting. visionthing (5532) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - FEB 1, 2014
50 cl on tap at Põrgu. Clear mahogany with nice, tan, creamy and lasting head. Herbal hoppy aroma with pine, malt, caramel and citrus. Medium sweet with nice hoppy flavours balanced against the sweet malt. Quite bitter finish. Nice one!
