Sample at the Scratch , Brisbane. Big farmhouse aroma, orange body, funky flavours ontop a solid Belgian strong. Way more complexity than I expected. This is a good beer, I’ll have to rerate a bigger glass with a fresh palate - the beer demands it.
Bottle from Slowbeer. Dark, slightly hazy brown, solid tan head, earthy, woody, spicy, red wine, caramel, mixed dried fruit, barnyard, quite boozy, warm alcohol lingers. A complex beer, not bad. hawthorne00 (3953) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JUL 27, 2012
Bottle, 11C. Clear deep reddish brown with a pale beige head that settles quickly to a coat. Vinous aroma with earth, spices, berries, caramel, citrus peel. Moderately sweet and spicy with oranges, berries, slightly singed caramel and a bit of a barnyard tang. There’s a real Western Vic Pinot Noir character here with vibrant berries but surprising lightness on the palate. Wouldn’t have minded a tad more sweetness but really liked the sense of place. Impressive. gam (3930) - brisbane, AUSTRALIA - JUL 20, 2012
