Bottle from Yamaya. Aroma of grass and some lemon. Clear pale straw color, lots of carb rising. Grass, good hopping / mid gets a bit sweet / flattens into a thick, dull sweetness, along with a metallic note. Thin-medium body, some big-time fizz. Full-bodied and fairly flavorful for a light lager. Better than I thought it would be.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, short lived, white head, over a clear golden (SRM 5) body....nose is light malts, corn, cereal....taste is sweet corn, finishing perhaps with a bit of bitterness....mouth feel is light and watery, carbonation high. This meets all of the characteristics of a pale lager, a style not worth the malt. BJCP 5/2/8/3/4

On tap at The Yard House in SD. Pours pale golden with a poofy white head. This is a fairly non-descript ber that I thought was long dead until I saw it at Yard House. I’m surprised that it is even still being kegged. Not the worst, but I’d hate to be trapped on an island with only this. If it is supposed to be something better or special b/c it is brewed in HI, I don’t see it being any different from the Miller swill put into bottles.

Bomber shared with kim johansen after some unsuccessful late night drinking. Pours gold nice tan head. Nice lagery nose. Taste is light and refreshing and all in all not half bad.

A pretty standard pale lager. When fresh from an ice bath it is quite refreshing and void of most flavor. A hint of hop bitterness rounded out with light malt sweetness. As it warms on the beach it gets quite off-putting. Nothing to see here, move along.

I guess it is a red stripe knockoff. Got it from a place in Anaheim where Ron and I picked up a Mickey’s. Now enjoying while watching fireworks. Fruity, grassy aroma with some coconut. Zero taste or flavor. Very foamy. points for no off-taste. It’ll have to do.

UPDATED: MAR 28, 2009 Bottle from Valley Farm. Medium golden in color. Sweet grain aroma. Some corn as well. Crisp and grainy. Decent lager. Kind of reminds me of Lucky from the 90’s.

12oz bottle from bevmo mission valley. Pours a medium golden color with a fluffy white head. Nose and flavor had a little extra sugary sweetness from the can sugar, decent lager.

Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - FEB 12, 2009
12oz bottle. Gold pour, much better than the typical pale lager, the head retention isn’t too bad either. Slight sweet malt aroma. A little sweet, no hop character at all, decent drinker.
