stouby (4781) - Holbæk, DENMARK - JAN 28, 2006
Bottle, at Hotel Winn. Brown with light brown head, mostly lasting, modest lacings. Aroma moderate malty (roasted, brown sugar), light hoppy. Flavor moderate sweet, light bitter. Light to medium body, oily, soft carbonated. Highly drinkable.

hammenlind (737) - Sundbyberg, SWEDEN - DEC 24, 2005
Brown in colour, with a diminishing beige head. Aroma from plum, malt and raisin with small hints of marzipan. A little caramelly flavour with extremely small scents of hops. Some hints of brown sugar.

Emil (6064) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 20, 2005
Bottle. Ruby colour with a fast dissapering baige head. Light caramel malty, hay, metallic aroma and taste. Light body with a sweet metallic finish.

screwball (1099) - Motala, SWEDEN - DEC 13, 2005
Red-brown colour. Off-white head. Malt in the aroma and taste. This one is very sweet. Burn sugar.

Papsoe (25056) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - SEP 10, 2005
(Bottle 33 cl) Dark brown beer with a small head. Malty, lightly burned caramel character with a discreet sweetness and a balancing bitterness. A very harmonious Christmas beer. 170202

Jukkabro (3484) - Tampere, FINLAND - FEB 23, 2005
Dark red color, little beige head. Very thin aroma: estery and mildly sweet. Medium bodied. Flavor has medium caramel, estery tones and aftertaste lasts with sweet and mildly roasted tones.

rickgordon (3878) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - DEC 17, 2004
Bottled. Dark ruby brown, big head. Sour nose is what I first interpretate. Sweet, raisiny in flavour with a papery bitterness. Soft malty mouthfeel. A decent example of a Julöl from Pripps. No bitterness, but then its a Vienna.

bark (255) - Linköping, SWEDEN - DEC 11, 2004
Bottle. The colour is dark brown and the very thin foam is beige.

The smell is a little sweet with some malt. At the same time, I found it prickly and weak. Odd.

The carbonation is too powerful, in a sharp way.

The taste is thin and a little sweet. There are notes of malt with some dry hops. The aftertaste is short with some sweetness and almost chemical hops.

This is, for better or for worse, considered as the model for a “julöl” (Christmas brew) for the man on the street in Sweden: Dark brown, sharp carbonation, sticky sweetness and no aftertaste. Which is a shame as there are lots of better alternatives, both imported and domestic.

larsniclas (7217) - Billdal, SWEDEN - DEC 21, 2003
Bottled. Dark brown with an ok head. Sour corn-aroma. Thin and way too much carbonation. A sour and metallic flavour. Yes, it's a Pripps!

ante (3373) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - NOV 30, 2003
Dark amber, small bubbly head. Sweet aroma with some malty notes. Sweet and slightly roasty flavour, hints if malt. Not good at all...
