Going off of memory, so I might be a bit off. I remember it pouring a golden brown with some bubbly white head. Aroma was of toasted biscuits, yellow raisens, and a touch of lemon. Taste was in between a triple and belgian golden strong. Odd but good combo.
Draft... Pours cloudy and golden with a small, creamy, white head. The flavor is a mélange of banana, clove and sweet pale malts. Full-bodied with a thick mouthfeel and busy carbonation. Nicely-balanced for the style. Leans a hair sweet, but also includes flavorful bitterness, spicy phenols and fruity esters. Crisp, fruity, biscuity finish. Draft at the brewery. Clear copper color with a thin white film. Aroma is sweet malt. Pretty traditional Belgian strong ale flavor: slightly sweet with a light hit of booze. Nice for the style. Aurelius (5335) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 22, 2014
Rich, biotic aroma - yeasty, notes of vitamins, sweet, lightly sour. clear, tan gold. A bit candied, ABV only moderately masked. A bit tangy, sturdy bittering. Booziness comes through in the finish. A stiff beer. jcwattsrugger (12420) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - NOV 28, 2013
@Pinglehead-on tap-dissipating offwhite-yellow/gold. A-soft sweet lt malt, some floral. T-sweet lt malt-bready, some floral/herbal hops. DialSquare (5032) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 13, 2012
Hmm... thought I’d already rated this. From growler: gold-yellow pour with a thin white head that leaves a ring. Aroma is muted, but pleasant - belgian yeast and light citrus fruit (apricot maybe). Taste is sweet citrus, yeast, grain, and nuts. Alcohol comes in a bit late, but not bad. Slick juicy texture. Ok. PorterPounder (7970) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 2, 2012
Tallahassee, Fl - on tap at Proof. Medium sparkling gold pour, white head. Nutty aroma with some fruit in the back end. Well rounded flavor with some nectarine fruity sweetness, a bit of yeast, some nuttiness, a buttery back end. Sticky mouthfeel. jbruner (4747) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - NOV 28, 2012
Pours a hazy golden brown on tap with thin white head and good lacing. Aroma of wheat, pale malt, belgian yeast, slight funk. Taste follows, but cut the yeast and add an alcoholic burn on the way down. Pretty decent, weird for a typical belgian, but the style is open to interpretation.
