on tap @ Proof / Tallahassee FL --- Nose of chocolate, toasted malt, and burlap. Opaque black color, deep tan head that drops to a thick rim, strips and bands of lace. Taste is toasted malt that adds hops on the swallow, only to turn immediately to bitter chocolate in a long finish. A beautifully balanced and full-bodied brew that goes down light and easy. What more could one want? glennmastrange (2949) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - OCT 11, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2017 Tap. Heavy toasted cereal, and dark chocolate for the malt, light pine tar and earth for the hops and yeast, with tar, soy sauce, vanilla, alcohol and solvent in the background, Head is small, frothy turning creamy, brown, with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and slightly acidic, then finishes lightly bittersweet. Palate is medium to full, creamy, with a soft carbonation and has a lightly alcoholic and chalky finish. Great Imperial Stout with deep and rich aromas, and a bold and stark flavor. hman43 (1958) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - APR 16, 2017
Very dark brown in appearance. Lots of roast with some chocolate, dried cherries and vanilla. oldrtybastrd (5228) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 4, 2016
Pours a jet black. Aromas of espresso/chocolate and roasted malts. Taste dark roasted coffee and bittersweet chocolate malt with a nice bitter bite. jjuf1853 (1302) - Land O Lakes, Florida, USA - JAN 17, 2016
Draft at Brass Tap Wiregrass. Pours a pitch black color with a dark tan head. The head fades rather quickly into a thin layer that forms an island in the center and along the outer perimeter of the glass. Beautiful webbed lacing along the sides of the glass. Aroma is loaded with dark chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Great flavor dominated by the chocolate and coffee. The 9% ABV is well hidden. Another fine beer from Proof! I’ve been very impressed with everything I’ve tried from them so far.

Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is chocolate, molasses & raisins - as it warms there is a whiff of coffee. Taste is smooth rich roasted malts and molasses. The roasted malts do all kinds of stuff to the palate evolving all the way to the finish. The raisins are there in the mid palate somewhere , but just barely. I can’t get past the roasted malts. Thanks to Mitzy for hunting down this one! Awesome! suprchunk (2994) - EffOff, Florida, USA - AUG 29, 2015
Black, flat pour. No head. No lacing. Slight chocolate nose. Taste is tires and licorice. Not very well executed. Homer321 (5255) - Melboring, Florida, USA - JUL 11, 2015
Draft. Pitch black with a large light brown head. Nose is all cocoa and chocolate. Very inviting. Such choco. Taste is similar with a lightly thin mouthfeel. I would not expect an 8% stout to be this thin. Overall very enjoyable but seems a bit one dimensional. dchmela (3089) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 27, 2015
Tap at Oblivion. Pours black. Nice roasted grain chocolate aroma. Smooth creamy roasted grain and cocoa taste. Nice. FunMikeG (51) - Jacksonville, Florida, USA - JAN 3, 2015
Very nice chocolate /coffee stout. Not too strong of a coffee flavor but very noticeable chocolate up front with a light coffee finish. Pours a thick dark chocolate color with a fluffy tab head. Smooth and easy to drink.
