golden amber color, nice foamy head, nose is a good dose of hops. some grainy malts with good hop bitterness. Well done, not the best Ipa in Canada but nice!! JustinBathurst (134) - Corner Brook, Newfoundland, CANADA - AUG 15, 2007
Pours a clear copper-orange with a small head of soap suds.
Smells of malty bread, grain, and big lemon hops.
Mouthfeel is crisp and has just the right amount of carbonation.
Taste is a bit molasses, some honey, grapefruit, unsweetened cocoa powder, and a good-sized hoppy bitter finish (not a hop-bomb, but good for an IPA as far as I’m concerned). The aftertaste is metallic, bitter, and lemon tang.
A good IPA for light sessions. I was very impressed with it. I would most definitely pick this up again. Too bad I bought it in Nova Scotia... I can’t get it at home. tagz (337) - Alabama, USA - AUG 1, 2007
22 oz bottle. rich orange, gold with foamy white head (some lacing). aroma of oats and grass. flavor is malt, bitter hop, slight citrus tart, some pine. bitter is dominant but is well balanced and leaves room for subtle grass and citrus notes to come through. this is a great ipa. stands more on the dry, bitter hop than the floral and it works well. tight carb - nice palate. its nice to taste an ipa with a solid malt backbone and not overwhelmingly floral. the 6.5 seals the deal. solid beer for sure. rederic (3337) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 4, 2007
650ml bottle, bright golden color, with a frothy white head, sweet floral hop nose, with a mild leafy and grassy accent, with a faint citrus note, a subtle hop spiciness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet pale malt, a mild hop piney character, with a faint juicy hop citrusy accent, with a light honeyish note, leading towards a sweet floral hop peachy fruitiness and a lingering leafy bittering finish. chronictonic (472) - Oreland, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 3, 2007
Medium to dark gold in color. Mild aroma with only hints of dry hopping. Flavor was sweet and a bit weird - not sure what hops they use in this beer, but it was not a very good IPA compare to others out there. However, compared to Alexander Keith’s IPA from Halifax it’s a winner.

Orange-copper in colour, quickly dissipating off-white coloured head, no lacing. The aroma is of floral hops, light grapefruit, some caramel sweetness. The flavour is of light lemon and grapefruit, peppery, floral, moderate sweetness, a bit on the chemically side, grassy. Moderatly bitter mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes peppery, bitter and lingering. This isn’t all that bad, the only downfall is that it is just a bit simple.

Bottle Courtesy of Okbeer. Light unclear medium orange color with a small frothy good lacing mostly lasting off-white head. Aroma is moderate hoppy, grass, flowers, light yeasty, hay, caramel, toffee, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Boutip (6380) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 15, 2007
Bottle courtesy of Okbeer: Poured a dirty amber color ale with a nice white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of mild citrusy hops with a dry malt base. Taste of citrusy hops is lighter then expected with a malt base that is too dry and IMO would have profited from more caramel malt. Body is quite full with a low level of filtration which I appreciated and some medium carbonation. Interesting but a bit weak on the hops side for the style. porterhouse (1580) - Boothbay, Maine, USA - JUN 13, 2007
(650 ml bottle (produced in week 1, May ’07) from the brewery) Nice, a little light in just about every way...Pours light slightly amberish gold with three fingers of pillowy white head. Sweetish aroma of light toffee, pine and flowers. Mouthfeel smooth, feels a bit light. Lots of foamy rings and sheets of lacing. Flavor is good but on the mild (and probably filtered) side - light malt sweetness overlain by medium bitterness with pine and flowery, very lightly fruity hops. Slight metallic taste detected a couple of times. OhioDad (2492) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - JUN 8, 2007
22oz bottle via trade with porterhouse! - Thanks Kevin - Pours amber with a solid offwhite head that fades back to a film but leaves nice lace. Aromas of pine, and slight caramel malts. Flavor is caramel, pine, some fruity notes, and even a bit of toffee, and butterscotch. Good balance with a slight bitter finish. Pretty solid IPA here. Not bad..
