COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not for the faint of heart. True India Pale Ales had to withstand long sea voyages before slaking the thirst of cranky British troops stationed in the heat of India. Bracing, bitter, higher in alcohol. Trademark Propeller quality. A full-bodied ale for full-throttle beer lovers. Drink fresh.

Nice big hoppy beer. My only issue is that I’m not getting any balance in it. Just hops. Wrong carbonation and nice dry finish.

650ml bottle. Pours a clear amber, with an off-white head. The aromas are very faint, with very little hop presence on the nose, but for some reason big notes of apple juice, with some caramel. Starts slightly sweet, with some toffee, apple notes, and a decent whack of hops. Something about this beer seems slightly muted, like the flavours should be bigger, but aren’t. It kind of feels like it’s missing its middle.

341ml bottle. The Propeller hops dominate this beer from start to finish. When you can taste anything else its pine and maybe a little citrus. Dry finish.

This pours a dark golden color with a small soapy white head, it also a few small spots of lacing. On the nose I am getting a little citrus notes and a little carmel In the flavor category, I can say it is some what off for an IPA. It has some big malt upfront. I am picking up some carmel, toffee notes. It has some grapefruit and hints of pine. I also get some warmth from the alcohol. It finishes with a long lingering bitterness and a burning sensation. I had been hearing such positive things from these guys. I felt it was a let down. I felt the longer I drank this the less I wanted it.

Single bottle purchased from Zyn Liqour in Calgary, AB on 06/24/2011. Colour: Slightly dark yellow with low head. Nose: dry hops, dijon mustard, ancient deadfall wood, brisk citurs (grapefruit?). Taste: Light sweet, medium bitter, light sour. Strict and to the point. No caramel or toffee undertones to lighten up the bite of the hops - this one is pure pine pleasure. Some dark cocoa notes muttle about. Finish is bitter and hop dominant. Completion of this beer makes you feel like a job well done.

Ontbeertaster (2362) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2011
Bottle, Very malty for an IPA, it is a little citrusy. I found the first few sips some what bad. But as I drank more I began to enjoy it a far bit. It had a decent bitterness to it. Overall good and easy drinking stuff that I would have again

gramity (1678) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - MAR 23, 2011
Clear amber and orangey colour with a one finger head that turns into a sticky ring of lace. The aroma is spicy, piney, and floral but not quite as potent as I have experienced in other American IPAs. The taste is more assertive with some hints of toffee and strong citrus. There is nice bitter finish to each sip. This beer goes down quite smooth. This is one of the more well balanced IPAs I’ve enjoyed.

On tap at Propeller in Halifax. Pours out golden topped with a tall fluffy head. Aroma was of citrus hops, grape fruit juice, light pine, and a good amount of toast. Taste was more of the grapefruit citrus hops, some lemon zest and a good malt backbone. Not a over the top IPA just a casual drinker.
