COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not for the faint of heart. True India Pale Ales had to withstand long sea voyages before slaking the thirst of cranky British troops stationed in the heat of India. Bracing, bitter, higher in alcohol. Trademark Propeller quality. A full-bodied ale for full-throttle beer lovers. Drink fresh.

Bottle from and shared with shigadeyo. Poured clear copper with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate sour citrus aroma. Medium body texture. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Drinkable brew.

Dark golden ale with a thin white head. Butterscotch in aroma, with little hops. In mouth, biscuitty malt with pungeant hops, resinous, and a buttery mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Sampled with Mtl crew, April 16 2006.

341ml bottle acquired in trade with Sammy (thanks for checking this one off my want list!). Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with an averaged sized head. Aromas of floral, earthy, light citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of floral, citrus, and lighter earthiness.

Sample at DougShoemaker’s 2005 December gathering - bottle courtesy of jerc & OKBeer via mr_kimchee. It was OK for Canada. significant hops and malt. Bitter finish, citrus aroma.

deyholla (12228) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - OCT 3, 2016
Sampled from the tap at Maxwell’s Plum. Pours a clear gold with a white head throughout the beer and laces. Aroma has sweet citrus and grass with a sweet grain backbone. Flavor has a nice sweet citrus with light grain and a bit of hay backing.

Draft @ brewery. Golden orange body, moderate white head. Mild resiny aroma, touch of maly and green hops. Bitterness is sufficient but not quite enough for the hardcore hophead. Quaffable, grassy notes with muted resin and a grapefruity puckering bitterness in the finish. Average to medium palate. (3+/4) Very nice beer. I look forward to seeing this one evolve over different batches. Picked up a few bottles to bring home.

Beautiful bright orange with a big white head that gradually fades leaving no lace. Big fresh fruity aromas, striking passionfruit dominates, some earthiness as well. Delicious caramel malt with a lot of fruity hop character (again passionfruit) with a very generous hoppy bitterness. One of the most sessionable and interesting IPAs I’ve had in a long time. More reminiscent of the english IPA style. Excellent!

JorisPPattyn (10072) - BELGIUM - NOV 18, 2017
Fast gone, off-white head, very faintly hazy orange-ochre beer. Cheesy hops, bit oxydized, rosewater, exotic fruit. Bitterish, bitter herbs/weeds, unripe berries and ditto citrus. Old green fruit, herbal tea concoction, nettles - but nice. Retronasal lime peel. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Quite good! Txs to Stef! 6/4/7/3/14

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2006 Any first impressions?
-A veil of head remains over the clear tan-orange.
-A wooden, sandy, resinous hop perfume (Simcoe?) subtly seduces the nostrils.
-Caramel maltiness and citrusy, floral hoppiness coalesce smoothly.
-Mouthfeel and carbonation are a little lazy, but they do their job of carrying the restrained flavors.

What if you dig deeper?
-Some butterscotch appears in the nose, but not too agressively.
-A frank hop bitterness showers the finale.
-Peaches and citrus pulp ease the quaffing.
-Halfway between British and American IPA, this remains drinkable and friendly all the way through.

Bottle; produced the 2nd week of March (2006 I presume).

[1899-20081213] 1pt6floz bottle. Grainy hops aroma has a hint of citrus and wood. Clear, red orange body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head and thick lacing. Heavy grainy hops flavour has some bitter citrus pips. Medium-full body. Nice and drinkable.
