COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not for the faint of heart. True India Pale Ales had to withstand long sea voyages before slaking the thirst of cranky British troops stationed in the heat of India. Bracing, bitter, higher in alcohol. Trademark Propeller quality. A full-bodied ale for full-throttle beer lovers. Drink fresh.

Really digging this IPA and its big pine and resin blast, both in the nose and the tongue-o. Its a curiously light orangey-yellow with a thin ivory noggin. I really enjoy the bold flavour of this ol gal and could happily have a light sesh on her. A nice chewy and lightly greasy mouthfeel make this a wonderful chomper of an IPA.

Lightly hazed orange pour with creamy white head. Aroma is large citrus/resiny hops. Almost orange zest. Flavor is large citrus/resiny hops and sweet bready malt. Medium body with good carbonation. nicely balanced

So, number 900, I think I spent 2 week in the 800s! San Francisco and Dougs Christmas parry will do that to you. Might as well make it with a strong Canadian Beer needing its 10th rating as well. Bottle at Dougs Christmas 2005, courtesy of our east coast friends again (thanks guys). Dark yellow. Small White head. Strong citrus grapefruit aroma - pleasant. Medium mouthfeel. Strong grapefruit hops taste - some malt in there as well - not too bad. Very short finish. A solid IPA right on style, well done Propeller.

Bottle from jerc and OKBeer. Thanks for the history lesson commercial description. Clear copper color with a beige head. Full hoppy aroma, citrusy and herbal. Nice malt balance in the aroma and flavor. Bitter finish, long lasting. Medium bodied and very drinkable. Its good to see more Canadian brewers getting this style right.

Bottle (650ml). Courtesy of jerc. Just what I need to combat my 10th day of an unshakable cold - a bomber of a strong down-east IPA! Poured clear copper with a small foamy white head. Aroma of orange juice, mild spruce resin, solid caramel malt, but I get an odd sickly sweet note, reminded me a bit of that "fruit" flavour added to kiddie medicine, or better yet those candy necklaces *girls* used to wear/eat (my wife claims it smells just like a "proper English sweet shop"). Taste is solid - solid toasty malt, solid tea/floral/juicy fresh hops - theres almost a pot pourri feel here. Mouthfeel is slightly astringent, flat and juicy - by the end of the bottle I was mourning the fact I only had one - one of the nicest NorAm UK-style IPAs Ive had - eat your liver, Alexander Keiths "IPA."

22oz bottle via trade with porterhouse! - Thanks Kevin - Pours amber with a solid offwhite head that fades back to a film but leaves nice lace. Aromas of pine, and slight caramel malts. Flavor is caramel, pine, some fruity notes, and even a bit of toffee, and butterscotch. Good balance with a slight bitter finish. Pretty solid IPA here. Not bad..

Bright golden, clear, white head with lacing. Bright, happy hops in the nose. Fruity and inviting. Soft, nice mouthfeel. Sweet malt body with hops kissing every sip--a fine balance. Good stuff.

Bottle via OKbeer. A solid and stable example of an IPA. nose is butterscotch covered hops....yeah I know. A deep amber with a finger thick oily tannish head. Settles with dense fine lacing to a dozen lilly pad carbonation points. Three separate waves of hops hit the tounge from start to finish. Body is medium. a nice one.

Nice golden colour with good head and some lacing. Hoppy, but not overwhelming. Lots of citrus flavours (grapefruit). Finishes smooth. Very drinkable.
