Bottled. A dark brown beer with a red shine under a dark brown head. The aroma has notes of burnt rubber, malt, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, wood, and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish - is there a slight infection in here? Pinball (12187) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAY 23, 2011

Black color; medium sized creamy head. Very nice aroma of roasted malt, milky, with notes of leather and cocoa nibs. Reasonable body strength, even if more was expected; good flavor, dominated by the roasted malts, with some liquorice finish. Strong bitterness, mostly coming from the roasted malts, and still a milky trace. Very good.
500 mL bottle from the brewery, served in a snifter. Pours hazy dark chestnut with a tiny, rocky tan head. The head quickly fades to a bare cover and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has notes of sweet, roasted malts, molasses, chocolate, licorice, herbs and a hint of pine. The flavour starts out moderately sweet with a strong roasted quality and a touch of whisky. A moderate bitterness is soon added to the mix, with a piney, citrusy quality. The finish is long and bitter with peppery alcohol notes. On the palate, it is full in body with a thick, creamy texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent imperial stout with a surprising hoppy character. The Cascade hops bring to mind a black IPA, but this is a much deeper and heavier brew. 2011-03-04 mcberko (18422) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 22, 2011
500mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of smoked malt, with some light chocolate and vanilla notes. The flavour reveals this smoked malt upfront, with some breadiness, a little iodine but not dominating, with even subtler chocolate. Quite nice, though subpar for impy stout. manuchampions (1244) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 19, 2011
