COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer was born for greatness. Sent by English brewers via the Baltic Sea to the court of the Czars, Russian Imperial Stout was brewed to very high gravities and allowed to ferment on the long voyage. The result? A dark, strong and bracing brew, imbibed by Peter, adored by Catherine and now reclaimed by you, the People. Za Vas!

Aroma of dark fruit and chocolate. Pours a deep blackish brown with no head. The taste is much like the nose - dark roasted malts, dark fruit and a hint of chocolate. There is slight bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Medium body with moderate carbonation - creamy texture. Overall, a very tasty and enjoyable imperial stout.

Pours a thick looking creamy brown head and has a black tar appearance. Very dark brew. Good lacing. Lightly smoked aromas, with a nutty, coffee avertone, even a bit of raisin. Average intensity. Very faint aroma of corn. Dark roasted malts, mostly coffee, dark chocolate, nuts and notes of caramel, and some spices. Also faint raisin flavour and some earthy type hops. Good balance of sweetness and bitterness. Actually pretty smooth and easy to drink but with a mild bitter aftertaste that lingers, but thats not a bad thing. Slick and somewhat drying sensation for motuhfeel. Really good. Not too bitter and goes down easy.

Aroma smoked malt, coffee and a hint of chocolate. Pours an opaque dark black color with a well laced tan head. A taste of smoked malt, espresso and a hint of bitter chocolate with a full bodied slightly oily feel and a smoked malt finish.

(Emb.12/16) (1939-300816)

One finger of persistent tan head, fluffy. Nice lacing. Very dark brown / black colour. Cocoa, toffee, prune, light roast aromas. Matching flavours. Strong chocolate and molasses, dark crystal/caramel sweetness. Roastiness comes through more in the aftertaste. Creamy medium-full mouthfeel. Medium carbonation.

My Bottom Line:
This luscious Imperial Stout relies on roasted raisins, diversified by a few green hop moments, peppery bitterness and mild alcohol warmth.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A persistent head of foam thrones atop the darkness.
-The mouthfeel is appropriately rich yet the carbonation manages to make everything feel smooth and easy.
-Alcohol is not a bother at all.
-The finish is not as intense as the flavor profile.

Bottle.
