Thanks to 5000 for sending me this bottle. Orange pour with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of black cherries, toffee and other dark fruit notes. The cherries and prunes are back in the flavor with some sweet toffee and caramel thrown in. The fruit is a bit overwhelming and the beer almost takes on a medicinal character. Very high, prickly carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Errl (2577) - Plano, Texas, USA - SEP 17, 2014

(fucking hot)). Hazy dark caramel color with lasting light tan head. Fruity, earthy ripe dark cherry aromas with dry spices, toast. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Toasted wheat, bready malt flavors with lightly tart, earthy sweet dark cherries, caramel, and some herbal greens---earthy bitter sweet herb garden taste to finish____good
Brown, cloudy with a solid quilt of light cream foam. Smells belgian, some dark cherries. Flavor follows, but not much cherry except on the finish. FUll bodied with moderately hi carb. Okay, but nothing special. 5000 (6900) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - FEB 18, 2014
Bottle:   Dirty amber, thick, hazy, dark straw perhaps, large foamy sandy head, great lacing.   Soft pencil shavings on the nose.   Yep, that’s the third one so far that has had pencil shavings in the aroma or on the tongue.   Otherwise a soft herbal and musty woodshop like aroma.   Soft graphite and wood shavings up front, a touch herbal, with a non-descript semi-sweet fruity backside.   Aged with wild cherries, so perhaps its that, however one might think it would be tart but its not.   Good body, a little bubbley, with a sweet rustic aspect to it.   Artisianal is a word I would used to describe these beers.   This one is pretty tasty, albeit I dont know that I care too much for the pencil shavings.

Cloudy dark amber with a large yellow head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is prunes, fig, spruce tips, hint of rosemary, cherry, candi sugar, toffee apple. Medium-light body, slight creamy mouthfeel, herbal on the palate, light carbonation, slightly dry finish. Taste is herbs, wild cherries, prunes, basil, dried apricot. Bottle, shared with Parksy and Ian. Medium amber colour, medium off white head that recedes to a film within a few minutes. Aroma is lightly sweet, estery, somewhat reserved. The palate is light caramel with a weak raw cherry character, and a medicinal finish. Overall quite thin. Nothing offensive here, just a little underwhelming. A soft pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a four finger thick, but only because I had to eat a lot of foam so that it would not overflow, full amber tinged, dark tan colored head. The beer is a concentrated plum / dark cherry skin color that shows a hazy, cherry-red hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells earthy, and has a cherry skin and cherry tart aroma to it up front. A bit of brown cracker like malt, as well as a musty, and phenolic character is also found here after digging just a bit; this last is a touch plastic like, and perhaps has a touch of medicinal character.mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - NOV 12, 2013
This has a bit of cherry skin, tannic fullness that compliments the chewy cherry skin and fruit flavor. There is a light tartness here that makes the cherry character taste a touch funky. There is just a hint of straw like grain here, as well as a bit of phenolic with some light plastic leaning notes that provide some hints of sharpness; really there does need to be a touch of a bite to this beer, either hops, or even herbal notes, there really isn’t quite enough balance to this beer.
A bit too plain, I was expecting something a bit more characterful, and even a bit more funky; on the latter, I am not sure why, as this brewery doesn’t seem to really do funky.
Can't say I'm overly digging this one. The wild cherry flavor is quite nice, and infuses a cheerful sweetness to the beer. But this base dark ale is odd. Not much going on, possibly because the herbs are too dominant. B-
