Solid black with a light thin red tint and a creamy lasting frothy tan head. Suger sweetness and maple or butter roast chocolate. Frothy medium to full thin body with a slight carbonation. Taste of roasted malt with a soft bitterness. This is balanced against the sweetness of vanilla, caramel, biscuit with a light smokiness. Malty and good roast. Sligthly dry on the finish.

wyzzywyz22 (2108) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - MAR 8, 2011
Bottle from Carringtons, Chorlton. Dark brown pour with a fading tan head. Sweet burnt maple syrup nose. Nice roasted malt notes and dark fruits in the flavour which again was on the sweet side and led to a gentle bitterness in the finish. Well proportioned, tasty and easy drinking. Nice one.

Leighton (21880) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 24, 2010
Cask at the Market Porter, London. Pours a dark, ruby-brown with a sturdy, lasting beige head. Strong butterscotch and caramel aroma. Swwet flavor with strong notes of maple syrup first, followed by some ripe fruits, bread, vanilla and light smoke. Very faint, earthen bitters. Medium bodied with soft carbonation, light warmth and a vinous texture. Finishes sweet, malty, with some dark sugars, mild dryness and lightly roasted malts. Very good stuff.
