Pours a clear red brown with small head and no lace. Notes of wheat bread, malt, and malt. KyotoLefty (11020) - Kyoto, JAPAN - SEP 1, 2016
Bottle from the brewery. Malty nose, caramel, minerals, grassy, earth hops. Medium sweet, then finishes rather dry. Minerals and earth. Decent but not as good as their lagers. Evolutionary (548) - Ohio, USA - JUL 24, 2016
Bottle from beer of month club from Jenny - thanks. Nose is weak cereal and nothing special. Thin body follows and head is gone quick. Not good at all. Strange plastic notes in there with the mild hop and malts. Won't do again. One of my least favorite of style. Patrickctenchi (6862) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - JUN 21, 2016
Clear, dark amber with a HUUUUGE light tan head.
Toffee, baked nut-bread scent.
Flavour is smooth, rich toffee malt, nuts, cola.
Almost a little chocolate-note.
Really wonderful.....nicely rich.
The only drawback (sorta) is the giant, ridiculous head.....took about 30 separate pours into my Kolsch glass to finish the bottle.....took forever....but, I guess that let me savour it more....worth it. shrubber85 (11804) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUN 17, 2016
Bottle. Dry hay and toffee malt aroma. Copper with giant off-white head. Moderately sweet nutty toffee malt and mildly bitter astringent hay flavor. Nice body. Very good - a solid altbier

Pours a caramel color with a white head. Caramel, toffee, biscuit, toast, banana, clove and soap aroma and flavors. Medium body and carbonation with a banana, clove and biscuit finish. Cousin_Larry (895) - - MAY 23, 2016
Love the style, but this one misses the mark by a decent margin. Flavor is far too watery - I like a stronger taste with more caramel. Oh well. It was fun giving it a shot anyway. fluffy (2461) - St Petersburg, Florida, USA - MAY 21, 2016
Not sure what was going on with this one. Kinda mineral-y and off flavored overall. Old bottle maybe?

Prost Altbier has an extremely fierce, foamy, spongy, bone-colored head, a cloudy, copper appearance, raging bubbles, powdery sediment throughout, and lacing blobs left behind. The aroma is odd- tea, lemon, walnuts, pecans, brown bread crust, and medium-roasted malt. Taste is odd, too- all of the above, with citrus, sourness, moderate hop bitterness, brown bread crust, and golden raisin. Mouthfeel is medium, and Prost Altbier finishes crisp and refreshing. Clear brown pour with minimal head and lacing. Nose is malt and faint spice. Taste is spice and banana. mouthfeel is a tad thin. Finish starts out sweet, then gets dry and malty.
