This bier is delicate and pale with less bitterness than a Pils and less sweetness than a Helles. A subtle fruitiness is the hallmark of this classic style from Köln. Along with Alt, this is one of the last ale holdouts in Germany

Poured from 12 oz bottle into pilsner glass. Pours a 2" bubbly white head that drops slowly with mild lacing. Color is hazy gold with abundant streaming carbonation. Aroma of yeast rolls, grain husks, lemon & citrus. Flavors of bready, yeasty malts with a tart lemony citrus bite. Overall: a well done Kolsch.

Sampled at GABF 2017 with Paul and Larry. Pours a clear golden body with thin white lace. Mouthfeel is crisp and light bodied with notes of grass, clean pale malt, biscuity character, soft spice and gentle grains.

Bottle at cask del Sholl in Denver. Sourced from the brewery. Pours clear gold with a creamy, white topping. Great aroma of biscuits, straw, mild grass. Light sweet flavour with beautifully rounded bready-biscuity character, subtle grassy bitterness, crunchy hay. Light bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Crisp finish, with a clean grassy note, more biscuits and hay, pale bread. Excellent kolsch.

After enjoying Kolsch in Cologne I've been trying to find one in Colorado that were like those. This is my favorite so far it has a lacy head and golden color. The aroma is lightly toast and fruity esters. Medium body with great mouth feel. Hops are in the back ground but nicely balanced. Yea, I really like this beer!

Clear yellow. MALT FORWARD WITH A TOUCH OF FRUITINESS. Light but fairly crisp body. True to style, but not terribly exciting.

Bill Becker (2012) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - DEC 28, 2016
This pours a clear pale gold with plenty of foam. The smell is of bready malt and quite a bit of fruity notes. Tastes of bread, grassy hops, and sometimes delicate, sometimes more assertive fruitiness. Medium body and carbonation. Excellent Koelsch!

12 oz. bottle, from the variety pack. Pale, very bubbly yellow, with a huge, foamy, white head. The nose is lemon zest, bread yeast, and some light mustiness. Sweet and grainy, with a fairly assertive, dank bitterness. Medium body, sticky, and sharp. This is a relatively nice, fruity, crisp beer, but it’s overhopped, and too heavy.

tmoreau (4752) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - NOV 22, 2016
Shared 12 oz. bottles poured to snifters showing a lightly hazed, golden color, with a modest layer of soft white head foam that reduced to a bubbly ring, and spots of lacing. The nose was typical light lager/pils scent, subtle grass & greenery, with a slight hints of apple & lemon. Light to medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste contributed a moderate earthy bitterness that created a nicely crisp & dry finish. Very sessionable.

PhillyCraft (8202) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 26, 2016
