COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This bier is delicate and pale with less bitterness than a Pils and less sweetness than a Helles. A subtle fruitiness is the hallmark of this classic style from Köln. Along with Alt, this is one of the last ale holdouts in Germany

This beer is very close to perfect for the style. Light golden pour, clean and clear. Head is white, rich and sticky. Aroma has a blend of sweet malt, florals and grassy hops. Tastes like a sharp lager with hints of floral, biscuit, white grape, sulfur, and light earthy spice. Very nice beer.

This pours a clear pale gold with plenty of foam. The smell is of bready malt and quite a bit of fruity notes. Tastes of bread, grassy hops, and sometimes delicate, sometimes more assertive fruitiness. Medium body and carbonation. Excellent Koelsch!

On tap @ Prost. Pours a yellow appearance with a white head. Big hay, herbal straw, slightly floral, light lemon aroma. Pretty dry, lightly toasted grainy, grassy flavor that finishes pretty dry. Pretty tasty.

(Bue en fűt sur place): Un brin fromagé avec une légčre croűte florale. Plus prčs d’une pils czech que d’une kolsch.

This was a well made kolsch .. Draft at the brewpub .. . clear-ish gold yellow .. mild foam .. straw and dried corn husk .. light and airy, standard fare .. . . The thing about Gary Numan is, not only is he a pop star right, he’s got a pilot’s licence. Imagine that!

Pint at Highland Tavern. I am not a kolsch fan at all, but let me say this is the best I have had. It’s immaculately clean and perfectly balanced. The aroma is light, doughy and crackery with faint grassy notes. Very clean body, light bready notes and corn husks. The finish is quick. This paired very well with the tater tots. It’s a lot of work to make this style with not a lot of reward, but Prost seems to do it better than most.

Shared 12 oz. bottles poured to snifters showing a lightly hazed, golden color, with a modest layer of soft white head foam that reduced to a bubbly ring, and spots of lacing. The nose was typical light lager/pils scent, subtle grass & greenery, with a slight hints of apple & lemon. Light to medium bodied, with decent carbonation, the taste contributed a moderate earthy bitterness that created a nicely crisp & dry finish. Very sessionable.

On tap @ Prost. Clear pale golden color with a white head. Aromas of grain, biscuit, dough, and apple. Nice yeast, some floral malt, and a subtle twang. Flavor is kind of grassy. Grain, dough, and biscuit sweetness. A bit too bitter. Light apple and floral notes.

On tap at The Kitchen. Pour is clear golden with a big frothy white head. Corn, sweet biscuit, grassy, minerally, slightly chalky, honey, and grainy aroma. Taste is sweet dough, grass, biscuit, cereal, somewhat earthy, minerals, and corn with a sweet finish. Light body with high carbonation. Clean and easy drinking. Decent stuff.
