On tap @ the brewpub. Black body with a nice, creamy beige head. Aroma is relatively discreet, dark malt, light roasted with a hint of coffee. Flavor is light roasted malt, fruity, some liquorices and moderate bitterness. Medium body, quite high drink ability, moderate aftertaste. A nice and pleasant beer, but not outstanding in any way. Pours black with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, yeast and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long roasted bitterness finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
On tap at the brewpub. Pours dark ruby with a small creamy tanned head. Aroma of light roasted malts, dark red ripe fruits.Taste is rich malty, dark red fruits, light roasted malts. Lingering moderate bitter chocolate at the end, lovely beer.

Pours dark brown with a creamy beige head. Aroma of coffee, some roasted notes, fruitiness, some apple peel and malt. Flavor is sweet and roasted malt with some caramel, coffer, fruity notes and malt. Medium body, average carbonation. Nicely done.
On tap at the brewpub. It’s a very dark one, not black, but really, really dark brown, topped by a dense, finger-thick dark beige head that lasts. Chocolate and coffee dominates the aroma, some grassy hoppyness lurks in the background, but doesn’t really step forward. The flavor has a quite bitter coffee flavor, with chocolate, and a hoppy bitterness showing up towards the end. Full-bodied and a bit rough in the edges at first, smoothens out a bit after a while. Quite burnt in the end, with coffee and some chocolate. A nice porter, well worth a revisit. Seems they’re starting to know how to do it at Provianten. 120209
