Watery and a bit astringent, this beer is certainly not a 55. Strange hop flavors that were very off par from normal APAs.

Bites the front of your tongue, but flavor drops off fast. Clear auburn, light tan color.

[7602-20150902] Bottle. Fresh orange potpourri aroma. Hazy, orange amber body with a long-lasting creamy off-white head. Bitter orange flower and pine hops flavour. Medium body is fairly bitter. Good. (8/4/8/4/16) 4.0

2015-09-02. Hazy dark orange, good sized beige head. 3+ flavour is fairly bitter, orange citrus and resin. Aroma is relatively mild, resiny citrus oil, orange. Smooth average plus bodied palate. Decent. Hops could be a bit brighter but I don’t know how fresh this was when we got it since there is no date on the bottle. Bottle from Ye Old Spirit Shop, Frederick, MD.

Transfer from BA review on 3-10-14- Poured from bottle into a pint glass Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden amber color with a one finger head of fizzy white foam. The head fades moderately quickly leaving a tiny bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass. Smell – The aroma is of a mainly bready smell mixed with some grainy and caramel smells. Along with these aromas are some light hoppy smells of a grassy and earthy nature as well as a little bit of grapefruit smell. Taste – The taste begins with a crisp and doughy taste mixed with some caramel sweetness. Right from the start there is a little bit of an earthy hop flavor. As the flavor advances it becomes slightly more grainy in nature with the doughy flavors being lost and the caramel flavor fading some. All the while, more hop flavors start coming to the tongue. These new hops are mainly of a hay and grassy taste which when combined with the grainy flavors and the loss of much of the caramel sweetness, end up leaving a somewhat dry, moderately hopped, flavor that leaves a slightly bad aftertaste on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is average in terms of its thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. A slightly thinner body and higher carbonation level would have likely been slightly better for all the grassy, grainy, and slightly off flavors that are left on the tongue at the end. Overall – Not really what I would consider a session beer as described on the bottle. Too high in alcohol, with too many off flavors, and not a crisp and easy enough drinking feel. This one did not impress me at all and is not one I will go back to any time soon.

Amusing that they’re self-labeling as a "Session IPA" at 5.6% abv, way to run that idea into the ground. Nose is light caramel, orange rind, touch of mineral and saggy yeast metabolites, but the candyish Amarillo character is coming through nicely. Hazy golden is more orange at the top, very slow and light carbonation, soapy white head. Lightly crisp and fruity taste, dries out somewhat over time, has brushes with wheat character (presumably I’m remember the next point ) but otherwise sticks to Gumballhead-like hoppiness with a little tang and mineral character, more tangerine and orange than anything else. Actually getting some of the malt here, which is nice, but it’s thin and flat, which is not. Medium body, refreshes well enough, I’m down.

Bottle from my brother over the 4th. Straw pour with nose of hopcitrus, some breadiness. Tasted of bready caramel malt, hopcitrus, but subdued hops, and a mild finish. OK, not great.

Small white head thats short lived, little bit of stringy lace left behind. Hazy, gold coor. Faint nose of citrus and grain. Light bodied, watery, slight carbonation. Hop water with some fruity notes. Finishes dry with little bite. Drinkable but bland. 12oz bottle from statelineliquors.

kramer (6682) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 15, 2014
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy copper body under a small fizzy white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is rather intensely hoppy for just an APA, and especially intense given what I have come to expect from this brewery. Bright and herbal with some floral notes over a lightly caramel malt base. The flavor is a little lacking in bitterness, but there’s a fair amount of green hop flavor. Pretty well on the drier side, but a little sweetness towards the finish. Lighter bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and some lingering green leafy hops. Meh, there are some good and some bad aspects to this one. Overall a lower tier APA.

closey22 (2026) - Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, USA - JAN 31, 2014
orange amber big bubble lasting white head; hoppy aroma hints of some kinda spicy perfuminess but not cheap cologneish, nice and alluring; flaava is rich earhty hoppy and bitter; feels medium with mild fizz creamyish; finishes bitter dry hoppy.

snoworsummer (5917) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 12, 2013
Draft in Federal Hill. Pours clear amber gold with a frothy off white head. Medium bitterness. malty and dry feel. Not much flavor. Smells like light pine hops.
