3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cloudy orange in colour with a thin off-white head, light lacing. The aroma has lots of candied sugar, incredible amounts of yeast, light spice, very juicy, some bubblegum, red liquorice. The flavour is very high on the yeast - bordering Unibroue territory there, a bit sweet, alcohol is hidden, some spice, dark fruits. Yeasty mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, yeasty with a lingering sweetness.
A nice attempt at a Belgian Ale from Publican here. The alcohol is well hidden throughout but it was quite sweet at times.
Growler from the brewery in Peterborough, Ontario.
Opened on May 1, 2010.
On draft at the Publican House. Pours gold with a big white head. Aroma is peppery and yeasty. Taste is slightly sweet, with a vinous character and notes of peppery spice, raisins, herbal hops, and chocolate. It doesn’t seem much like a tripel but it is fairly interesting, if a little heavy on the raisin. Johnsense (1741) - - MAR 14, 2013
Pale gold pour, lots of lace. Belgian Yeast, bubblegum and spices in the aroma. The yeast dominates the taste, with hints of bubblegum and corriander. A bit light for a trippel really. Lighter body. On tap at Loose Moose

Pale amber-golden pour. The nose is sweet and a little bit spicy with a touch of honey. Some lightly dirty fusels that I could do without. A little bit peppery and spicy. Not really tripel-like but I've had worse. A little bit of mint as well.

On tap. Orange pour, white head. Citrus, yeast and caramel malt on the nose. Oily. Slightly sweet with a dry bitter finish. Booze well hidden. Not complex, and not what I expect from a Belgian strong. Was ok. JB84 (649) - Kitchener, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 28, 2011
Pour copper amber beige head ok lacing. Aroma boozy, cheese, dark fruit acidic. Taste cherries, hot not good booziness, dark fruit, spicy. MF left a hot burning throat feel medium to full body fine carb. Not very good and I’m sure not as intended. rederic (3342) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 26, 2011
750ml bottle from the brewery, amber color, with a small beige head, with a yeasty, fruity ripe apples, pear, peach, mango esters and spicy cinnamon nose from the belgian yeast strain used, with some toasted, caramel, biscuity, cerealic malt accents, with a faint cookie dough sweetness in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, spicy character of cinnamon, clove, and with some toasted, caramelized, grainy rye, buckwheat cerealic maltiness flavours with some ripe apple, pear, fruit salad undertones, and a hint of flowery hop leafiness, leading towards a warming, fruity, grainy malty cerealic, lingering hop bitterness finish. Lubiere (14133) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - NOV 28, 2010
A reddish copper ale with a big bubbled thick moka head. In aroma, sweet malt with loads of fruity esters, quite nice. In mouth, a smooth sweet candy sugar with nutty notes, smooth and classy, some warming alcohol. From growler brought by Probstk, tasted with GRM, Probstk, and Mike H., Oct. 8 2010. probstblueribbon (3791) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 26, 2010

App.: Very hazy deep orange-amber with a small yellowish-tan head.
Aroma: Some nice esters (banana, tropical fruit, etc.), boozy fruits, sweet caramel, honey, a bit more Weizenbock than Belgian Ale?, very fruity with some bright notes.
Palate: Medium body and fair effervescence.
Flav.: Much like the nose, lots of esters and sweet malt notes, some bright notes, very fruity, light yeasty notes, a bit boozy; sweet with minimal bitterness and a sweet, luscious malt finish.
A little confused, style-wise, but quite nice.
