Best before 2009 and I had it in 2012. Though it is very old, I believe it may be bottled conditioned not filtered as it felt more mature. Maybe it was just natural aging. Nonetheless, it tasted alright. It was medium to light brown in colour which I assume is an aged amber for an ESB. The head is thick and lasting, white, lacy head. Smells of complex malt, roast and an overall depth of biscuits and sweet nut. Thin light body with soft carbonation. Any hops to this guy was long gone. Tasted of biscuits and roasted malt with a smooth malt character and a light hint of sugar. Very nice but the finish has a bit of vinegar on the end which was probably due to its age. Nonetheless, a nice gift and an enjoyable experiment. DJMonarch (9179) - Northwich, Cheshire, ENGLAND - MAY 23, 2010

Fruit and hop aromas. White head. Some carbonation. Golden coloured and hoppy with a little dryness and bitterness in an earthy malt finish. JorisPPattyn (9928) - Ursel, BELGIUM - MAR 18, 2009
Medium yellowish, fine & dense head over pale foxy-amber beer. Sweet nose, pineapple ester, some discreet hops, freshly baked bread. Good British bitter characteristics, well-hopped; some dry, non-sweet malts and very diluted caramel. Refreshing. Light to medium bodied (which probably turns it into a strong ale, UK perception willing). Dry finish & aftertaste. Good one, for sure! Thanks to DeanS! cluny6 (115) - Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - DEC 30, 2008

500ml bottle from Tesco. Fairly average to decent British bottled bitter. Drinkable and acceptable. Good malt and hop presence. This would be a nice beer if it wasn’t for the processing it has gone through after brewing. Boiled sweets taste of pasteurisation.
