Cask at GBBF, 7/8/12. Clear, light gold. Grainy tasting pale malt. Slightly herby hops, but not much in the way of hops. Mostly cereally taste, fairly clean. Light body. Faint floral aroma.

500ml Bottle. Aroma is hoppy and slightly citrusy. It pours averagely well and Is a golden colour with a medium quality and lasting head. Taste wise its quite a decent drink, hops, giving way to a slight citrus aftertaste. Its main problem is that its not a session beer and its not a feature beer either. Theres nothing wrong with it at all - but I could recommend better feature beers too.

Pale golden yellow coloured beer with a weak white head. Very light citrusy aroma, lemony and some sweetness. Dry mouthfeel. Dry malt flavour to start then a lift lemony citrus fruit hop flavour comes through. The finish is weak. Tasted at the Wellington, Birmingham.

Brown 500ml bottle, best before 27th Apr 2009, drank 10 Mar 2009. Poured into an Old Speckled Hen vase shaped pint glass. Looked like a Lager/Pilsner, Pure Gold by name and looks it would seem. Good English beery smell, hops and barley mixing togethr like they should. A sweetness is present but not enough to turn the aroma sickly, just a hint of summer gardens and flowers. English Maris Otter and Cara Gold malts, hence the clour, the blend of Northern Brewer, Fuggles, Hereford Goldings and Styrian Goldings Hops ensure the taste follows the aroma to give a truely English feel to the taste and drinkability. The label goes on to say it has dry, bitter notes, it certainly does and it does it very well. I am rapidly likeing this breweries products. The body is solid for a 4.3% bitter and it has a lot more flavour than the colour suggests. This is one very well balanced beer and very easy to drink. Pity I couldnt get the head to stay on the beer as I drank it.

Tasted this in the Esquire House, Glasgow (JDW) in November 2009. Cask, handpump dispense. Opaque pale straw in colour with a thin white head. Slight sulphur note in the lemony hopped aroma. Clean crisp mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt base gives a juicy citric note of gooseberry, kiwi and lychees long in intensity. Strong dusty floral notes add to the citrusy lemon hops which give a sharp bitter bite to the long aftertaste. Clean zesty fruit flavours dry the palate with gooseberry still evident. A decent session Golden Ale which tastes far stronger than its ABV suggets.

(cask @ Uppner Castle) Golden colour ,with subtle white flakes as a head. Citrus nose . In the mouth aromatic hops are refreshing , dry and with nice malt backbone. Not bad , but id rather drink lots of Bohemian Pils.

Bottle. Pours a clear yellow. Aroma slightly sweet amongst the hops. Taste has initial hints of citrus, giving way immediately to quite strong hops. Not the most quaffable of ales due to the dryness but one to dabble with from time to time.
