Bottle Courtesy of Kaggie.
Pours a nice pink color. Aroma is cranberry juice and honey. Flavor is much the same. Slightly sour cranberry juice with a touch of honey. Easy to drink and not overdone. Very well done. jumpjet2k (314) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAY 13, 2010
This meadery has definitely been out of commission for a while - I haven’t seen their offerings in well over a year. From what I’ve heard they’re trying to re-open, but we’ll see if that happens or not. In any case, I purchased this bottle of the cranberry mead in January 2009 and popped it open to share at a party last night. It poured pink with fizzy carbonation, and no head, of course. The nose was lightly tart, definitely sweet, and fruity. Flavors were pretty much the same: gentle tartness with sweet cranberries and just a little unfermented honey flavor. The carbonation, as I mentioned, was bubbly and just at the right level to make this a pretty light mead. I wasn’t expecting anything too great from this one, but I guess some time in the cellar helped it out. The consensus of everyone who tried it was that it was quite nice. This is definitely something I’d buy again, so we’ll see if Purple Possum is able to get things moving again. Caoimhin57 (2) - Texas, USA - OCT 23, 2009 does not count
I absolutely dispise Cranberry taste.
This is good stuff!
Light clear red color.
Sometimes a bit ’sparkly’. other bottles will have none at all.
Very easy to enjoy all evening. JMFG (1587) - Florida, USA - APR 13, 2009
Courtesy GodofThunder. Light purple color, no head. Very mild cranberry notes, no real sweetness. Very thin body, little sweetness, mostly cranberry taste, almost no honey character, hard to believe there is much alcohol in this at all. Bottle from Thickfreakness at February Houston Tasting. Thanks, Charlie! Pours a deep cranberry red with an enticing aroma of cranberry slushee and sweet red wine. Flavor is cranberry Big Red gum that leaves a Sprite-like tingling on the palate. Nice for a youth and his bike. (I have no idea why I wrote that in my rating; it was late in the tasting.)

Date: February 21, 2009
Appearance: clear red with a violet hue, viscous with a couple of legs
Aroma: sweet honey aroma balanced with a cranberry tartness
Flavor: big cranberry flavor with lots of tartness, honey sweetness comes in to balance the tartness
Overall: a very unusual mead with the honey being secondary to the cranberry
Aroma: 6/10; Appearance: 7/10; Flavor: 7/10; Palate: 6/10; Overall: 13/20
Pours a cranberry color. Very thin bodied. Flavor is lacking on both honey and alcohol. Very light and full of cranberry juice. Almost tastes like Ocean Spray juice right out of the bottle with maybe a little taste of honey in there. jkwalking05 (4743) - Arlington, Texas, USA - FEB 19, 2009
Bottle thanks to blutt59. Magenta in color. Aroma is of cranberry and honey. taste is th same with some raspberry as well. smith4498 (3650) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - FEB 15, 2009
Bottle shared by GodOfThunder. Light cranberry color with no head. Aromas of cranberries. Tart cranberry flavor. Light body with no carbonation and a tart, dry finish. If I liked cranberries more, I would have enjoyed this more.
