650ml bottle pours almost black in color with a finger of light beige head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is chocolate and light roasted grains. Taste is a chocolate malty sweetness with a light roasted grain bitterness with a mild hop presence. Medium bodied with light carbonation. A very drinkable porter style brew that is recommended for a tasting. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - SEP 21, 2012
Bottle:   Very dark, nearly black, thin to moderate light beige head, whispy lacing.   Nose of roasted malt, dark chocolate, and coffee beans.   Roasted malt start, light sweetness, a little coffee and dark chocolate follow.   Backside is a little ashy, with a bit of cream and sugar to go with the coffee.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Little hop presense on the nose and the tongue, which is fine.   Finishes clean, lingering roasted malts, ash, with soft sweet notes of dark chocolate and sweetened coffee.   Good Porter, clean, but not out of the ordinary.   Solid example of the style. Brown in color, clear with a thin head. Dark chocolate and coffee like aromas. The malts are thick with flavor chocolate and coffee with a thick finish. This is a brew served with a fork. Very tasty.
