Tap at Pyramid Taproom at Oakland Airport. Cloudy pale amber in color with a one finger cream-colored head. Faint aroma of caramel, nuts, and English yeast. The flavor is actually a bit yeasty, oddly enough. Sweet and malty with just a tiny bit of hop bitterness. Medium-bodied with average carbonation. The epitome of mediocrity, more or less.

Draught as a 5 oz sampler at Pyramid in Sacramento, CA, on April 23, 2011
As "Alehouse Amber Ale"
Shady amber color, off-white head. Sweet, hoppy, malty, somewhat roasted taste. Moussy mouthfeel. A bit roasted aftertaste with hints of coffee, turns more fruity in the end. Medium bitterness. Fruity but also somewhat stale scent with sewage hints.

Sample at the Sacramento location. Color is a dirty, rusty reddish brown. Aroma is malty with light spice. Flavor is smooth and malty. Not as sweet as most Ambers but it is really well balanced, has sort of a rye flavor. Overall a very good amber ale.

Zymurgeist2 (2440) - Redwood City, California, USA - JAN 2, 2011
On draught at the Oakland Airport. Pours a very hazy burnt orange with tan head of small, tiny bubbles. Lots of rich malt and wheat on the nose. Medium-full mouthfeel with chewy biscuit. Taste is heavy malt that is slightly sweet and taste lingers around the mouth. I might be a little generous on the score as it is pretty darn good for an airport beer.

JaBier (8396) - Capital City, Ohio, USA - SEP 7, 2010
Sample at the brewpub in Berkeley on 8/8/10. Hazy amber/copper pour with a thin off-white head. Aroma of crystal malt and a bit of roast. Light crystal malt flavor with a teeny bit of hop.

IrishBoy (4254) - Bakersfield, California, USA - AUG 19, 2010

riversideAK (6265) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - JUN 5, 2010
Toasted bread and doughy yeast aroma, some light fruity hop aromas. Pours dark amber, cloudy, unfultered, decent creamy white head, light lace. Flavors of doughy yeast, toast, caramel, lightly acidic hops. Almost chewy mouthfeel.
