Tap at Pyramid Taproom at Oakland Airport. Cloudy pale amber in color with a one finger cream-colored head. Faint aroma of caramel, nuts, and English yeast. The flavor is actually a bit yeasty, oddly enough. Sweet and malty with just a tiny bit of hop bitterness. Medium-bodied with average carbonation. odd smell of spent matches??? mixed with caramel malt and roastiness.
it tastes like smoke, wood, sweet malt and nutty caramel.

As "Alehouse Amber Ale"
Shady amber color, off-white head. Sweet, hoppy, malty, somewhat roasted taste. Moussy mouthfeel. A bit roasted aftertaste with hints of coffee, turns more fruity in the end. Medium bitterness. Fruity but also somewhat stale scent with sewage hints.
Sample at the Sacramento location. Color is a dirty, rusty reddish brown. Aroma is malty with light spice. Flavor is smooth and malty. Not as sweet as most Ambers but it is really well balanced, has sort of a rye flavor. Overall a very good amber ale.

On draught at the Oakland Airport. Pours a very hazy burnt orange with tan head of small, tiny bubbles. Lots of rich malt and wheat on the nose. Medium-full mouthfeel with chewy biscuit. Taste is heavy malt that is slightly sweet and taste lingers around the mouth. I might be a little generous on the score as it is pretty darn good for an airport beer.
