Very nice copper coloured body with an amber glow and a thin tan head. Aroma of nice hops with a good nutty backbone and a little sweetness all with a very filling malt stance. Medium-bodied; Strong hop flavours dominate with perhaps more than usual for this brewery, with a little malt note and a relatively sweet and vinous finish. Aftertaste shows good character with a touch of complexity and a mainly hoppy finish showing good character for the style. Overall, a surprisingly decent IPA given the brewery. I sampled this pint on draught at the Walnut Creek, California brewpub on 18-March-2011. riversideAK (6261) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - FEB 24, 2009
On tap at Seattle Ale House Location. The aroma is nice and juicy citrus with some caramel malts in the nose too. More assertively hoppy than their other IPA offering. Pours a clear copper color with no head. Nice vibrant hoppy flavor. Lots of citrus, floral hops, and some caramel malts that add a fruity sweetness. Long lingering citrus hop flavor. Really surprisingly good IPA from Pyramid.
