Bottle. Poured a honey yellow with small white head. Nothing really stands out to me, but I enjoyed it. Light and refreshing, a good session beer. rayOfBeer (674) - El Cerrito, California, USA - MAY 6, 2008
Poured from tap at Berkeley Pyramid ale house, labeled crystal wheat ale, as a clear pale blonde ale with a small white head with low carbonation. Aroma of banana, caramel and malt. Flavor is lightly sweet with banana, honey, and malt. The palate is sweet with a light tartness and a slight carbonation tingle. Nice overall, could use more carbonation to pump up the spice tingle on tongue, but I would drink this one again. scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - APR 14, 2008
clear yellow gold, two finger head of fluffy white small bubbles. strong yet soft dry baked wheat aroma. soft, light, and dusty on the palate with a little peak of bitterness if only for a second. balanced nicely, the initial sweetness never gets out of control, though the style isn’t my thing. robforbes (2238) - Bremerton, Washington, USA - APR 14, 2008
purchased at safeway in bremerton (east), as a crystal wheat ale.
pours a clear yellow with a thin white head and bubbles.
smell of wheat, lemon, some spice.
taste has lots of carbonation, tart, wheat, lemon, spice, slight bitter, ends with some pepper and slightly dry and sour. glkaiser (1214) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 10, 2008
12oz bottle of Crystal Wheat Ale. Purely clear dark golden with nice head and good retention. Light, sweet malt aroma with a touch of spicy hops. Crisp wheat and light sweetness in the taste. Spicy hops and moderately bitter finish is more than I expected.
I expected zilch from this. But, I’m pleasantly surprised. I’d gladly drink this when looking for a light session beer any time. Very refreshing, yet taste is still there. Great baseball beer.

Bottle. Labeled as Crystal Wheat. Looks like a pale lager, nice white head. Heavy wheat, light citrus, not much else. Very watery, some wheat, very light. timfoolery (1126) - California, USA - FEB 13, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 7, 2008 On tap at Sac brewery. Billed as an unfiltered brew, this one was clearer than my shower door (when dry). There wasn’t anything that stood out; it was just a very smooth, yet bland, Hefe. bitbucket (2165) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - NOV 24, 2007
On tap at the SoDo brewery. Pours clear light amber with a lacy white head. Fruit aroma. Light, watery body and medium carbonation. A little sour on the finish. Not a memorable beer. Angeloregon (2055) - Portland, Oregon, USA - NOV 12, 2007
Poured a clear copper body with a small-to-wispy white head. Nose of lemony wheat and mild cascade hops. Slightly fruity from malt and hops balance. Has the distict Pyramid yeast nose. Easy to drink. Slightly chalky. Finishes somewhat dry and thin and slightly tart. A very nice session beer and rather unique for an American Kristall Weizen. riversideAK (6260) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - OCT 22, 2007
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2008 Clear orange gold. No head. Light wheat aroma with some lemon. Flavor is mostly some nice lemon notes. Light wheat and maybe a little bubble gum fruitiness? Pretty light. Good carbonation. Flavor is identical to their wheat beer, but not as heavy. Obviously huh?
