Aroma is dominated by hops and a very subtle chocolate smell. Dark body with a thin foam rim. Very dark flavors of black patent malt, cocoa, caramel and strong bittering hops. Overall, the black ipa bitterness is very subtle, but there. I;d give this a B+ rating. AdamGott (386) - Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA - FEB 20, 2013
brown/slight black pour - aroma of light fruit (orange) - flavors of roasted malt and cola with some molasses. arrogantb (1402) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 17, 2012
Bottle best by 06/07/12 $1.69. Dark brown-red, definitely not black at all. decent head. Smells like it was dry hopped but it is not in the least bit impressive. Taste is completely average. Very boring malts with a hint of hops and nothing more. This is probably the lamest black or dark IPA I’ve ever had. It wasn’t bad or offensive it was just completely mediocre.

bottle, pecan colored pour with aroma of plums, plain roast flavor with a little pitted fruit type notes TheRealMGD (555) - Lakewood, Washington, USA - SEP 10, 2012
Bomber from Saar’s. Clear, deep, reddish black pour with a short beige head with good retention and leaving heavy lace. Nose is fresh hops all the way, with undertones of dark-roasted malt. Medium body with fine, mild carbonation and a touch of oiliness, particularly near the finish. Dark chocolate, pine and citrus hops, some charcoal and walnuts. Finish is medium, bittersweet and dry, with more charcoal and some lemony tartness. Nothing remarkable, but very solid and enjoyable.

(12oz bottle, courtesy of blutt59) Pours a clear deep amber body with a medium cream head. Aroma of smoke, sulfur, caramel, vanilla, and chocolate. Flavor of caramel, roasted malt, grass, citrus, and nuts. cheap (5960) - Beaver Valley, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 15, 2012
From the bottle, I was impressed by the way it looked in my tall beer glass; big black and a very nice head. Head is fading but it still looks pretty good. Smell is typical IPA-ish. Yes, as expected; big nasty ipa flavor on an olmost undescernable roasty background. Over the top and matches up with most run of the mill IPA. Bitter black nasty medicine this is, wew. Barely any co2 but what is detected is a little creamy. Call aristotle and meno and ask if the taste of this is just remembered knowledge or just learned. Does seem to be more than 7% so I guess its not hiding the alky well, but I ask: does any good IPA? Rototilling of the taste buds ensues. cmonster (1000) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUL 12, 2012
Bottle served in a pint glass. Pours dark brown with amber hues. Medium-large tan head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet malt, earthy hops, and a hint of roast. Medium sweet, light bitter flavor. Medium body, thin-oily texture, and a bitter-sweet finish. Decent middle-of-the-road Black IPA. JStax (6997) - Devola/Marietta, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Poured from a bottle into a tumbler glass. Pours a translucent brown with a nice khaki colored head of foam. Aroma is piny resiny hops with just a touch of sugary presence. Taste is dank herbal hops with a long, bitter finish. Mickey42 (36) - Syracuse, New York, USA - JUN 27, 2012
A good beer but the taste lingers and not in the good way. It coats the mouth and I would find it hard to eat with most foods. I found the taste better when it warmed up a little.
