I much prefer the wheaten, this seemed rather unexciting

Sampled druaght at Fox & Hound, Richardson, Texas.
Pale amber and cloudy. No Head. No aroma. Very light fruitiness. Clean and hard malt profile and fizzy mouthfeel. Medium to light body. Notes of citrus and slight touch of bitterness in the finish.

pours with a healthy light-tan head above the traditional cloudy golden/orange body. Aroma is mildly sweet wheat, spicy (clove), and light citrus. Taste is watery lemon, hint of yeast. Where's the banana?!

Pours a beautiful Banana Colour and quite Opaque at that. Nice head but disappears quickly. Faint Aroma and the forthcoming Flavour was similiarly lacking. This brew tastes watered down with little to no character. Some Hefe Yeast kinda wants to show its presence as you force is down but its weak and faint. I should have spent my money on its brother the IPA. Oh well I will keep it in the Lawnmower beer section of the frige. Adios!

Bottle. Pleasant lightly citrus/wheat aroma. Cloudy pale amber color with a quickly disapearing head. Slightly sour citrus flavor. Some other fruits in the background, but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth. Just not what Id like. There are better hefeweizens out there. This just doesnt have any oomph.

I remember someone telling me that this was just an unfiltered version of the Wheaten Ale. That cannot be true, since that beer is quite good and this one is quite lifeless.

I tried this brew many years ago (or at least it seems like it) here in Seattle. I was rather disappointed in it's lack of flavor for a hefeweizen. Unforunately, it's served as the "go to" hefe around the Seattle area. Pyramid is capable of much better.

This is an utterly classic example of beauty being only skin deep. This is a very pretty brew - nice cloudy swirls and a decent head, bordering on thickly gorgeous though it rapidly churns away. And so does all lauding for the brew - there bascially is nothing there beneath the makeup. Is it Animal House where the kid goes to undo the bra and is left holding crumpled kleenex as she passes out? Very little left to this brew - check out how many times the always on target ecrvich used synonyms for "average" in his review and you understand better than if you made it through my vacuous rant.
