Good retention and very light lacing. Smells of grass, floral and butter. Tastes of citrus zest, grass and a buttery finish. No aftertaste.

12 oz bottle poured to wine glass
Appearance: Golden yellow, minimal head, minimal lacing
Smell: strong aroma of hops
Overall: Beer is good, but not really fantastic or something to look for slowrunner77 (11911) - Reno, Nevada, USA - NOV 11, 2015
Amber in color. Aroma is slightly grapefruit forward and sweet malt. Flavor is moderately bittersweet, more grapefruit and cereal. Ok. GoufCustom (1976) - HONG KONG - OCT 13, 2015

355 ml bottle bought at The Q-Shop in SoHo, Central.
Looks: Clear amber red colour; Less than one-quarter finger head and residual soapy white foam which fades in 20 seconds; Good sticky lacing with fizzy slight carbonation.
Aroma: Quite fragrant but pungent and sweet lager malt, with passion fruits, pineapples, light jackfruits, floral, honey, sugar, toffee, spice, light pine, light resin, biscuits, light lemon and green grass.
Taste: Close to medium sweet amber malt, with burnt toffee, burnt sugar, very light grapefruits, molasses, spices, pine, pretty strong resin, biscuits, yeast, lemon, strong bitter hops and grass.
Body: Light body. Slightly slick and fairly oozy palate.
Mouth Feel: Strong red maltyness in thin watery background. Lots of burnt toffee and burnt sugar with strong non-hop bitterness. Very light grapefruits and good molasses, spice and strong resin with notable lemon to round. Okay.
Hoppiness: Tropical fruits, floral, honey, spice, light pine, light resin and green grass in nose. Very light grapefruits, spices, pine, strong resin and lemon in taste. Bitterness is strong compounded by malty burnt taste for a lasting, very strong astringent malty finish.
After Taste: Fairly dry. Burnt and very bitter to mouth.
Comments: This one’s burnt-malt influence is so strong it overwhelmed whatever being left of the West Coast hops. That aside, it was pretty suspect to begin with: pissy lager aroma mixed with fruity hops, burnt sugar bitterness which goes bonkers, not a lot of dry hop characters, and very thin body. I have had better IPLs than this. Not impressed.
On tap @ Pyramid Taproom in the Oakland Airport. Wasn’t really expecting an amber colored liquid on this one...oh well. Typical earthy and floral hop profile for these PNW hoppy beers. Some grapefruit and citrus oil, at least. Sweet toasted bread, caramel, and a bit of butterscotch. A lot of bitterness on the tongue, which doesn’t really do it for me.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, best before 1/21/2015. Pours slightly hazy orange/amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange zest, citrus rind, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance, complexity, and robustness of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast esters present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very good IPL style. All around good robustness, complexity, and balance of citrus/pine hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering. hansvf (879) - - APR 6, 2015
Ruikt zurig. Vrij weinig smaak, beetje gek. Kan het niet plaatsen.. Niet vies. Dus tsja, lastig... luttonm (6152) - Seattle, Washington, USA - FEB 8, 2015
Bottle in Seattle. Pale gold with soft foam. Lemony hop body, with sticky souring sweet lager. Mild sticky hop aroma. Some copper-metallic in finish. patricks110 (2486) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 1, 2015
Mostly a boring brew. Pours a light gold with a thin yellow tinted head. The aroma is hoppy and a bit fruity with light caramel and toasted bread malts. A bit bland overall with good balance and moderate bitterness. Barnacle_Ed (51) - Milpitas, California, USA - JAN 21, 2015
I’ll be the first to admit I’m not a fan of lagers; Tasteless fizzy yellow water doesn’t appeal to me. So when a friend handed me a bottle of this, I was highly skeptical at first. A few sips in though and I was pleasantly surprised by this one! Highly drinkable yet with a decent flavor backing to it. Would be great on a hot summer day or while lounging at the beach. Not sure I’d buy it myself, but wouldn’t complain about having it again.
