Bottled sample at the 2nd Annual Top of the Hops Charlottesville, VA beer festival, 9/10/11. Pours a clear copper with a thin frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of earthy, citrus and peppery hops with sweet malts. The taste is bitter hops, citrus, earthy notes and a malty finish. Medium bodied.

Well carbonation yields to a greasy residing head. The malty aroma brings a well laced malt / caramel taste. A very drinkable beer with a slight bitterness and floral note at the end. Overall good, but not excelente.

On tap at the Pyramid brewpub in Sacramento. Just have sparse notes and a score: citrus orange, resin, roasty, caramel, sweet, ok - 6.4

Nicely hopped red ale, easy and drinkable, surprisingly good for a pyramid product.

Bottle. A dark amber pour with a thin tan head. Scent is sweet caramel and hidden corn? Taste is caramel and earthy hops.

Bottle 355ml
Aroma citrus fruity with sweet caramel malt note. Leafy with slight hop bitter sourness.6+
Appearance dark-red amber with hint of brown. Medium plus white top.4-
Flavor and Palate : medium bodied with thinner walls. Caramel mid with dry hop sides. Overall quiet sweet with late bitter hop feel. Some dryness on top. Decent offering.

[Bottle] Pours a deep amber color with a quickly receding head. Sweet and malty aroma includes some earth and mild grassy hops. Tastes like sweet bread, biscuits and grapefruit. Not much complexity here. Overcarbonated and the body could have been better. A pretty easy drinker.

gsmitty80 (2130) - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 11, 2010
I thought this was a very nice amber ale. It had a nice balance of malt and hops and was not too alcoholic like a big red beer.

obguthr (6595) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - NOV 14, 2010
Dried leaves and caramel nose. Clear tea colored, medium head. Dried leaves and malt initially, slightly sweet nougat at midpalate, finishes with bitter walnut skin. Very fall-like. Nicely crafted. Much better than I expected.
