Poured from 12oz bottle into a snifter. Dark amber with a thick cream colored head. Aroma is caramel malt, resinous and citrusy hops with some pine notes as well. Flavor is caramel malt with sweet resinous citrusy hops. Medium bodied with a slightly oily mouthfeel. Overall a nice IIPA that is not overly bitter, and certainly one of the better offerings I’ve had from Pyramid. jmagnus87 (3302) - Rockford, Illinois, USA - MAY 20, 2012
12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark orange with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma of citrus and grapefruit. Taste is medium bitter. Citrus and grapefruit. Medium bodied with a thick texture. Lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, very good. I would gladly drink this again. jb (3454) - Rochester, New York, USA - MAY 20, 2012
Smells like freshly cut grapefruit, wow, a pit of maltiness too. Clear and amber with a fine layer of head that remains. Very nicely balance with hops and malt in check throughout. A bit dry for an IIPA, but nice. 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - MAY 18, 2012
Pretty well made double IPA, fairly balanced, plenty of bitterness, bit of crystal, toast, balanced fruit and pine, a bit chalky though. joebudzjoe (677) - Connecticut, USA - MAY 18, 2012
A clear ruby body with minimal head. This is a sweet caramel double ipa with a dry grassy and piney hop note. Medium bodied with a slight soap aftertaste. Remnants of the high abv well after the sip. Good but unspectacular.

I typically complain about IPA, but an Imperial IPA is a bit of an exception. This one packs a punch. Like John Cougar said, "It hurts so good". JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - MAY 13, 2012
Pours a dark orangish amber..Piney and grapefruit with a little sweetness in aroma. The flavor is caramel malts, citrus, tartness, and a little bitterness in the finish. Overall, a decent imperial IPA. bleeng (1705) - Houston not near Beersel., Texas, USA - MAY 12, 2012
12 oz bottle thanks to Jimmy. Pours dark amber with a small white head. Nice citrus nose but a bit mild. Flavors of citrus and bitter hops. Some decent malt profile for balance. Bitterness on the end. Alcohol is present but not over the top. Decent IIPA. greenhorn1 (850) - Mission Viejo, California, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Great typical NW citrus bomb. Nice malt background. I do like my double ipa’s to be super bitter, which this is lacking. However, the dry hop gives it a nice aroma. Good ipa (not iipa). GandGKevin (934) - Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA - MAY 12, 2012
Sweet citrus aromas. Also sweet citrus flavors. Overall a very good imperial IPA.
