COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Ignition Series #2
Outburst Imperial IPA is a high-impact workout for the senses. A crafty combination of four different hops, and a dose of dry hopping, powers Outburst to 80 IBU strong. Its bold profile offers an aroma reminiscent of the Northwest hop fields at harvest time, along with spicy overtones of fresh citrus. Seeking a harmonious balance to the hop overload, weve blended four different specialty malts to create a distinctive deep amber hue and sweet caramel and roasty flavors.

12oz. Btl. nice and frothy head; hints of citrus, lemon and herbs? (nice!). pours amber and lightly hazy. almost perfect taste; if there is such a thing. A wonderful mix of bitterness and sourness that comes together quite nicely on your tongue and mouth. Excellant Beer!

Bottled into a pint glass. Ill drink this any day over any 60 or 90 overpriced IPA. Very well balanced hops and malt with citrus finish. Plus its like a scavenger hunt finding this stuff outside a variety pack this year. Hoppy IPA hunting to all, WOO HOOOO!

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2013 Wonderfully hoppy. Fresh, green hop flavor; creamy, complex texture. Taste is pine, citrus. Reminds me of a Stone. Low carbonation. Finish is reminiscent of a barley wine.

Smells like a fruit basket but tastes better than any apple I ever had. Deep rich flavors. This is the type of beer that makes you happy to be alive.

Honestly wonderful aroma, I could just smell the beer for hours. Flavor is a bit heavy handed, but with the alcohol content as high as it is, it needs it. I waver between just liking this beer a lot and wanting to marry it and have kids together. A serious value for what you get, but needs to be drunk in small quantities or thats exactly what youll end up - drunk.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2015 One of the more impressive offerings from Pyramid. Pours a gorgeous amber with a nice foamy white head. Very floral and hop oriented aroma with a bittersweet finish on the palate. I like this beer. It is cheap and has a good buzz to it.

Pyramid Outburst Imperial IPA is a clear, dense, light copper ale with a dense, creamy sand colored head that has excellent retention and lacing. It has a hoppy aroma with notes of grass, flowers, tropical fruit and bubble gum. Its pretty full bodied and foamy. It goes down smooth but leaves the mouth a little trashed. Its quite bitter and a little sweet with caramel and a hint of star fruit. Theres a resiny bitterness that leans toward juniper and lasts long after the swallow. This is really jam packed with flavor. If youre ready for a good smack in the mouth, strap in and drink this!

Im not going to get into analogical madness with the description. Listen, I am sort of burnt out on the hundreds of cookie cutter west coast IPAs. All hops and no malt make Jack a dull beer. I look for the perfect balance. Truth is, I love Pliny the Elder and I really enjoy 90 Minute and I love my friends home brews even more. I didnt want to like a Pyramid brew but after three years, I keep buying this IPA. I am no longer an IPA fanatic as Ive expanded my love of all styles but when I do want a beautifully balanced and aromatically scintillating IPA, I go to this wonderful 12 oz. dont over analyze...just relish it.

citrus, alcohol, pale, very clear, minimal head, soft carbonation, bitter experience throughout. For an IIPA, has a great amount of taste.

Pours amber with a touch of white head. Sweet mandarin, pineapple, pine, a touch a caramel in the aroma. Nice double IPA. Well balanced, great hop character. Quite fruity overall, with a hint of sweetness on the finish to balance the bitterness and leave you craving more.
