Pours dark amber with modest rapidly falling head. Aroma is cascades with slight malt. Taste is cascades with some carmel malt. A little watery, tastes like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale's younger brother. Decent, not excellent APA.

Copper color with ruby tint (almost purple), light lacing. Aroma is of nutty carmel malt with hints of fruity hops. The flavor is moderately malty and lightly hopped. Finish is slightly sour, nuty malt and lightly bitter.

Really a good beer. It is somewhat dark brown and the taste stays with you. One of my favorite beers.

This looked and tasted like a hoppy nut brown ale. Some caramel in the malt along with sourness at the end. Hops were o.k., but became metallic.

Strange, this doesn't appear to be a pale ale, closer in color to an amber, small head and little lacing, thin to medium-bodied. Fruity and sweet aroma (Berry, caramel, lemongrass), very nice. Mildly hoppy on the palate with some sweetness to balance it out, metallic finish however. Shouldn't be listed as an English Pale Ale (or for that matter an APA).

Hazy copper body topped by small beige head. Aroma is floral, moderately sweet, berry, light caramel. Taste is hoppy, fairly sweet, and slightly acidic, finishing floral bitter. Medium body.

Ernest (7438) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 12, 2003
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is dark amber. Aroma is moderately malty (cookie, caramel), moderately hoppy (resin, flowers), lightly yeasty (dough), with notes of apricot and toffee. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, metallic. Promising aroma ruined by a metallic and unclean aftertaste.

Not much head, and amber in color. Darker than most pales. Malty bouquet. Good balance of malts and hops on palate.

Somewhat copper color. Not much head. A nice bitter taste, but no subtelty beneath it. A little thin for a pale ale. Nice, but nothing special.
